Appearance: Pale straw colour, decent fluffy white head which lasts longer than most asian lagers. Effervescent. Aroma: Bready aroma, with some light fruit notes, pear or apple peel. Possibly some diacetyl, if not butterscotch. Flavour: Slight alcohol flavour, almost vodka-like. Of course bready through the centre, green apple lingers. Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation gives a zip on the palate, not much bitterness to balance the sweetness of the pale malts. Short finish, no aftertaste. Overall: Quite strange beer, some weird vodka smell and flavour.

330ml can bought in siem reap. Now there is absolutely no mention of pilsener on the can. And the design has changed beyond recognition. Pours the same colour as any cheap lager. Aroma is grass and faint hops. Decent and refreshing. Not offensive but not great.

Clear golden coloured body with a very thin, half a centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale malt, water, metal and very little else - maybe some rice. Super light-bodied; Strong metallic note with a little lemon noticeable and a very mild alcohol flavour - no hops at all, and a touch of sweetness, too. Aftertaste, super mild, but luckily not showing any offensive characteristics - fairly subdued. Overall, not a horrible beer, but not one with great flavour or depth - if you want a beer here, just stick with Angkor Stout and enjoy it exclusively. I sampled this 33 cL (yes, not a 320 mL can from the description) can purchased from Angkor Market in Siem Reap, Cambodia on 05-April-2012 for 2000Rial (US$0.50) sampled at home in Washington on the other side of the planet on 15-November-2013.

33cl (4.5%) from a supermarked in Siem Reap. Light golden with a small white head that quickly disappears. Uery light and sweet malty aroma just a faint hint of hops. Sweet and pretty tasteless, but goes down easy in the heat. A hardly noticable hint of bitterness in the finish.

Unfortunately I’ve never had a can of this that wasn’t skunky. Most Cambodian peasants stay away, if you’ve got this at your wedding people will laugh at you.

Cerveza pedorra, pero muy refrescante para soportar el calor de camboya. Se recomienda no tomar en grandes cantidades si no quieren sentirse mal.

Unfortunately for such an epic name, comes not such an epic beer. Quite watery, definitely one of the more watered down attempts at beer here in Cambodia. Great name though!
