Loup Garou is the Cajun French phase for a werewolf and is also Bayou Teche Brewings limited edition, Belgian inspired Imperial Stout. Crafted with an insane amount of chocolate roasted Belgian malts, brown sugars and French hops, our stout is then aged on oak for several months. Loup Garou is just around 8% ABV and will be released in 22 oz. Belgian-style bottles and a very limited number of kegs.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2016 Bomber: Very similar. Lots of burnt grain. Some dark burnt coffee and no barrel. At Brewery: Very little barrel comes thought this beer. No barreled Carmel. Light hop and burnt flavors. Thin head. Sad on this one

Pours deep brown with thin but clingy head. Aromas of treacle, coffee, Belgian malts and anise. Taste is molasses, some woodiness, coffee and malt. A little too much molasses and notes of alcohol that don't seem to translate into the actual ABV. Somewhat disappointing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Excellent pour & enticing aroma w/ a bit of a bitter taste. The palate is ok but the beer is quite drinkable. Pretty tasty stuff!

(En ft la brasserie): Fum, anis, menthol mais surtout trs fudge. Le corps est assez gras et la finale adquatement sche. Trs solide.

Pitch black coloured body with a thick, four centimetre tall rich brown head that fades relatively fast to a small, half centimetre layer of brown. Aroma of licorice, anise, toasted malt, bourbon, oak, vanilla and a herbal layer at the very end. Full-bodied; Strong vanilla and pungent sweetness with a lot of anise, some toasted malt, oak dryness and even some rye and grain flavours as well. Aftertaste shows some well-layered flavours with a robust sweetness, smooth oak and vanilla flavour and well-hidden alcohol which is nice, especially with a bit of age, too. Overall, a nice beer to try, better than I was expecting with the ratings and a smooth and robust beer for the style! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 25-April-2014 for US$12,00 sampled at home in Washington on 01-November-2015.

Avenue Pub, New Orleans tap to a to-go cup: Pours oil with brown head that leaves everlasting lacing. Yes, this does stain. Aroma is milky chocolate, molasses, wood, tons of sugar. Taste is somewhat sweet with relatively little bitterness. Loads of chocolate and wood as well. Good.

Bottle courtesy of me. Black color, brown head. Stains the glass, in a good way, I guess. Aroma of rich Dark chocolate. Taste is cocoa and coffee grounds.
