Ein Bier wie seine Heimat. Ursprünglich, ehrlich und charaktervoll präsentiert sich unser AKTIEN Landbier. UPDATED: SEP 15, 2013 On tap; pours a very dark brown with nice coffee head. Aroma somewhat sweet. Taste was of cocoa, very light bodied compared to other german dunkels but very easy drinking and I would definitely buy again

Copenhagen 26/3 2017. 50 cl bottle from Meny. As "Original Landbier Dunkel". A lot of Corn Ears and a little figure who looks a little like Bismarck on the label. Pours clear dark brown with red tinge and big white head. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam. Moderate lacing. Aroma s sweetish. Burnt caramel, sugar, lightly roasted malts and melted butter. Medium carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is medium to heavy sweet. A little sugary. Light sweetness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Fairly generic Dunkel. Too sweet for my taste buds. But not offensively so.

From a 500ml bottle. Pours dark copper and is lightly carbonated. Not overwhelmingly sweet or a strong taste for the strength it is. An earthy, biscuit flavour with plum and raisin on the palate. It came in a lovely bottle and I had lots of expectations for this Landbier from Franconia but it didn’t quite live up to them. I would give it another go though.

From tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a clear dark mahogany with a medium sized, off white head. Aroma has intense pilsner malts, toasted malts, light chocolate and some caramel. A hint of dry-grassy EU hops. Taste is sweet, slight fruity, pretty crisp up front, but finishes off sweet and malty. Body is malty and thickish, average high carbonation for the style.

hauxe (624) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - FEB 3, 2017
Pours amber brown from the bottle and leaves a fluffy head that soon settles. The aroma is bready with a strong red berry note. Not particularly beguiling or interesting though. Taste is lightly sour and a bit sweet with red berry playing the dominant role. The subtle toffee sweetness in the finish does not save the brew from being a bit of a bore. Decent and uncomplicated. Better with food than on it’s own. Preferably something heavy and meaty.
