Half-pint, cask ale as Pure Gold, 4.3 % abv, at George’s Meeting House (JDW). Off-white bubbly head, clingy lacing, amber coloured body, near-clear. Brown malty nose with citric notes. Taste of dried fruits, lemon and toffee. Bittersweet end. Straightforward (Exeter 29.09.2016).

Pour amber/gold with small white head. Subtle aromas of toffee and floral hops. Enjoyable, simple slightly sweet taste with bitter hop notes. Refreshing and easy drinking.

Cask @ Green Parrot, Perranporth Cornwall, amber with white head tastes hoppy with a hint of toffee, a nice bitter aftertaste makes this a ok bitter.

Don’t get much in the aroma, but it looks beautiful. Full creamy head. Flavor is quite tasty and smooth with just a little bitterness. Enjoyed with FatPhil who was kind enough to hop over from Estonia and show me around.

Draught (Kitty’s, Helsinki)
Nice sweetish honey aroma, some evidence of bittering hops. Paleish orange, lovely spongy persistent head. Beautiful soft palate, carbonation low, ahhhh, real ale how I’ve missed you. Fairly simple sweet malty twiggy bitter taste. Gold? Nah, this is just a classic bitter. Hops only realy present as bittering. Slightly milky malty finish, gentle dry bitter dusting. Simple, but tasty, such an easy drinker.
