Pours hazy brown with a thin head, mostly malty and caramel aroma in the nose. Taste - sweet with bitter-sour aftertaste, some fruity notes, a bit weird flavors. Barely OK.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy brown with tall, long lasting, fluffy beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is of caramel malt, dried plums and hint of coffee. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Deep red, briefish beige head, a little fizzy. Sweet caramel, some sweet nuts, and on a good drag even something quite heady in the aroma, but shy of solventy fortunately. Settles to being quite grainy and mashy. Sweet body, light prickle of carbonation. Tastes massively underfermented. Grainy, mashy, and sweet, no sign of alcohol. Finish so grainy. Really not sure this finished fermenting, it would be nice to know the OG and FG. A bit of a mess, but there’s something tempting about the massive bucketload of grains. What do the 100 and 65 on the label mean? I hope that’s not the Gravity!!!!?!??!?
Bottle 330ml. Slightly hazy reddish with big beige head. Sweet aroma, notes of ripe fruits, prune, raisin and tart. Very sweet flavor, syrupy, fruity, notes of tart with some spiciness, light sourness in the finish, quite alcoholic. Soft carbonation, full-bodied.

Hmm well this was an interesting doppelbock. The aroma was ok, sweet malt with raisin and other fruity notes, really liked the dark ruby appearance and beige head and lacing. The flavor was good, not awesome, caramel, toffee, candied apples and plums, although the taste abruptly finishes rather quickly. the 8% alcohol was masked well, the body and mouthfeel was relatively light for the style. Bittersweet aftertaste is enjoyable. Seems like a dopplebock-lite, although the ABV is still solid. I would drink this again, but wouldn’t go out of my way. Bottle at a tasting at James’ place. Pours a hazed brown with a thin white to beige head. Soft malt, buttery old malt, dirty old. Medium-bodied, sweet and old, weird oxidization, paper and old plums.
