750mL bottle from source, poured into snifter. Little head, dark reddish brown body. Wonderful bouquet of sweet sugars, fig, cherry, oak, and alcohol. Complex but balanced flavors of fig, dark fruits, candied sugar, with peppery spice and alcohol on the finish. The aging process smooths out the finish. You can taste the bourbon without the singe of alcohol. Mouthfeel is full and creamy with little carbonation. Overall, this is one of the most enjoyable and sessionable barleywines I've ever had. And all out of a tiny brewery in VA Beach that started in a guys garage. Well done!
Old bottle from when it was just Beach Brewing. Pours clear Ruby hazel, medium beige head, nice residual and lacing. Aroma is mostly bourbon and dark sugars. Quite sweet, medium bitter. Medium body. nasmith003 (252) - Virginia, USA - APR 4, 2015

All around this is a good beer but its really tough to drink more then a few ounces. Huge sweetness and harsh boozyness mask the vanilla, bourbon, dark fruit nuances that make it a good beer. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - NOV 17, 2013
11/25/2012. From a 22 oz bottle. Dark amber color with a tan head. Aromas of dried fruit, roasted malt, alcohol, caramel. Some oaky flavors blended with the fruit. A bit buttery and sweet at first, then the warming alcohol sets in. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - NOV 17, 2013
Really sweet bomber, barrel characteristics are pretty awesome, the base beer is pretty harsh however, it’s ok burg326 (5479) - Florida, USA - NOV 3, 2013
Poured a dark amber from the bottle with aromas of toffee, caramel, light figs, and a touch of vanilla. Flavors are huge caramel and toffee with some nutty figs added, a very nice barley wine that surprised me. mikem409 (2022) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - OCT 8, 2013
