4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
22oz, black waxed bottle, from grape & gourmet. i’ve been waiting patiently for this brew to be released and it was worth it. pours a deep, hazy, russet-amber that sits imposingly in the glass topped by a creamy, khaki head that leaves thick sheets of lace. aroma is incredible with huge notes of vanilla cake, pralines, toffee candies, toasted coconut, and oak backed by figs, raisin bread, and boozy bourbon. flavor is right up there with some of the best barrel aged barleywines i’ve tasted with an assault of sweet toffee, coconut cream pie, toasted oak, caramel, and sweet malts up front that transition seamlessly to sweet, dried fruits, earthy hops, warming bourbon, and a hint of spice on the back end with a long, lingering finish of vanilla and oak. palate is full bodied, chewy, and rich without being overly sticky or sweet owing to its great balance. overall, this is by far and away Beach Brewing’s best offering yet and it could certainly hold its own with the hyped barleywines of the world. great job, guys!
Old bottle from when it was just Beach Brewing. Pours clear Ruby hazel, medium beige head, nice residual and lacing. Aroma is mostly bourbon and dark sugars. Quite sweet, medium bitter. Medium body. nasmith003 (252) - Virginia, USA - APR 4, 2015

All around this is a good beer but its really tough to drink more then a few ounces. Huge sweetness and harsh boozyness mask the vanilla, bourbon, dark fruit nuances that make it a good beer. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - NOV 17, 2013
11/25/2012. From a 22 oz bottle. Dark amber color with a tan head. Aromas of dried fruit, roasted malt, alcohol, caramel. Some oaky flavors blended with the fruit. A bit buttery and sweet at first, then the warming alcohol sets in. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - NOV 17, 2013
Really sweet bomber, barrel characteristics are pretty awesome, the base beer is pretty harsh however, it’s ok burg326 (5482) - Florida, USA - NOV 3, 2013
Poured a dark amber from the bottle with aromas of toffee, caramel, light figs, and a touch of vanilla. Flavors are huge caramel and toffee with some nutty figs added, a very nice barley wine that surprised me. mikem409 (2027) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - OCT 8, 2013
