COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When you get three hopheads together to collaborate on a beer, its only natural to expect some hopped up liquid incarnation of their lupulin lust to spring forth from such a session. Maybe it seems pass to somethree masters of hoppy beer once again exploring the familiar territory of the India pale ale. After all, who needs yet another IPA, double or otherwise, right? Its all been done. To those who feel this way, this trios reply is: So what? In birthing a double IPA made bitter and fruity care of a mlange of new and experimental hops (Azacca, Belma, and yet-to-be-named varieties from Washingtons Yakima Valley), they arent staying in a comfort zonetheyre hitting a sweet spot in the name of all that is good, delicious, hoppy and forward-thinking to create an IPA thats both like and unlike anything they, or you, have ever tasted. Rife with essence of pine, resin, and fruits both citrus and tropical, theres no need for apologies with this beer. All thats necessary is a yearning for hops, a sturdy constitution and an empty glass.

Aroma of lots of pine, citrus, taste is piney, citrus, lots of resin, mild malt that serves as a nice sweetness to a very bitter beer. This is a must try!

Draft pint at Roundhouse Wanchai. Sweet citrus on the nose. Beautiful light amber, quickly dissipating head that clings to the glass. Citrus, sativa, lychee. Sweet and sour goodness.

On tap at Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is pine, citrus, marmalade, stewed fruits (less fragrant than the Fieldwork Swash IPA Im drinking). Taste is big hops and big malts that meld together so well and that youd expect from Stone. A citrus bouillon, marmalade, fruit stew. A great beer from Stone...although nothing that unique or new, probably something a little more nuanced from them.

(Keg at OlutExpo 2016) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, herbalness and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, citricness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A good one-dimensional hoppy brew.

Draught from evening star. Not sure if tap line was unclean or what but this had a funky old undertone. Otherwise some tangerine and citrus.

It is one of the cool things about IPAs that they can be similar but then be very different. First time buy and taste of Stone Unapologetic. Came from the local HEB in the usual 22 oz. brown bottle but with a catchy job of yellow labeling. I carefully poured into an appropriated 12 oz. glass mug making sure I left a inch of yellow-white foam. Liquid is a nice medium yellow-gold with a very active stream of bubbles carbonating to the top. First taste, wow, immediate orange and then lemon. A bit of spruce seeping in. Hoppy, yes. All nice. Like I said, the same but different in a good way. You might think it is light enough to maybe pound a couple. I do not know. One is great. 9% is lurking. Head on to the second echelon stuff after. Likely another Unapologetic in the near future.

660 ml bottle purchased at Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury (VT) on September 28, 2016. Clear honey gold, medium head. Alcohol hoppy aroma, notes of peach herbs. Very dominant alcohol taste, some fruity hop notes but nothing else, bitter alcohol finish. They should apologize for this!
