Wax sealed bottle from Bine and Vine: Poured a deep and dark amber hue that had transparency of mahogany while a soft creamy thin head developed on top which actually reminded me of Guinness Draught. Aroma is thick and heavy with toffee caramel like malts but in general is a subtle and tame olfaction. The taste is sweet with sugary sweet malts that are chewy in flavor of toffee and caramel that stays true to the Scottish-style ale. One clever name and cool design on the label which is another reminder that Beachwood stands out from the rest of the breweries coming out of Southern Cali.

Dark copper pour with a honey colored head. Sweet caramel, toffee, cocoa, molasses, and maybe even a touch of maple in this one. Chewy and sticky. Dessert in a bottle. Decadent. reggiedunlop (3725) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Pours a murky brown/ruby with a medium tan head. Aroma has moderate roastiness along with hints of fruit, peat, chocolate, and toffee. Flavor has good earthy bitterness to add a bit of balance to roasty notes of chocolate, toffee and mild fruit. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with an earthy bitter/roasty finish. IMHO they nailed the style. revolverlbc (22) - California, USA - APR 12, 2013
