COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop Drops is a Belgian-inspired beer brewed outside the box. A base of German pilsner malt and a hefty helping of rye pave the way for a smattering of floral and citrusy European hops; we even used Mandarina Bavaria, an experimental German variety that adds distinctive tangerine accents. Brewed with our favorite Belgian yeast, Hop Drops is dry and highly sessionable. IBUs 63

Backlog. On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a clear golden hued body with a moderate sized white head. Aromas are hoppy, floral and spicy with moderate belgian yeast and light isoamyl acetate. Flavors are herbal and somewhat intensely bitter for what I expected. Grassy, herbal and floral. Drinkable albeit assertively bitter. Medium-fuller carbonation.

Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of spice, rye, hints of grass, orange, touch of caramel, toffee, slight white fruits, hints of pepper in there as well. Taste is a mix of pepper, phenols, some clove going into more spices, touch of grass, orange, pear, slight spicy rye, hints of caramel, finishing sweet, slightly bitter.

On tap at the brewpub. A clear one, golden in color, with a white head. The aroma has a pleasant Belgian touch, is quite fruity, and with a touch of alcohol. There’s a nice bitterness in the mouth, it’s full bodied and lightly warming. Some sweetness, mostly dry. Lasting bitter v finish. Overall nice, but a bit warming for a 6.2% beer. 130813

Tap at Beachwood Seal Beach. Clear light golden, medium too larger white head. Webby lacing. Very solid Belgian Ale with mild candi sugar, mint, orange peel, white grape abound. Great balanced palate. Mild mint and powder. Not cloying, boozy, or spicy yeast heavy. Clean, balanced. Easy to enjoy.

Orange pour with a white head. Sweet malt, bread, peach, and sugar. Mild pine, some floral hops, and a touch of citrus. White pepper spiciness, too. There’s a peppery bite to the flavor. Bread, sugar, and sweet fruits. Pear, apple, and peach. Citrus peel, some grass, and floral hops. Hint of banana as it warms.
