Lite Brite is a new twist on one of our favorite styles: West Coast India pale ale. A base of extra pale German pilsner malt lays a delicate foundation for a major blast of Amarillo, Warrior, & Nelson Sauvin in the kettle. A jumbo-sized dry hopping with Amarillo throws down aromas of bright citrus and stone fruit.

16oz tap pour at Beachwood Long Beach followed by 64oz growler destruction at home. Clearly, this was my favorite beer of the day on tap. Light golden straw color with rocky foam. Perfect lace. Nose of vanilla cake, frosting. Flavor brings some mild sugar balance, sweet pineapple, excellent bitterness. Refreshing, clean body with mango flavors coming forward. Delicious.

(En fût à la brasserie Long Beach): La délicieuse particularité du Nelson en arôme, des tons terreux et une fraicheur tropicale rassembleuse. Une autre perle de buvabilité signée Beachwood.

Draft. Aroma of pith, not quite definable to a single fruit. Soapy sub-head. Flavors take a while to arrive, but once they do, they’re big candied lemon peel in the middle of the tongue. Sweet sticks to the palatr a bit. A bit of cracker malt sits under it. Unusual, and fun for it.

A hazed golden ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with smooth yet pungent floral hops, grapefruit pulp, restrained and pleasing. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and balanced, excellent ipa. On tap at brewery.

On tap at their place in Long Beach. Pours a hazy yellow wit ha thin white head. Aroma is pine and slight citrus. Flavor explodes and is different from their other IPAs. Really nice beer. Finishes clean and dry.

So nailed. Highly aromatic, diesel, mineral, peAches fruit, light citrus tang, just off dry, light golden, fine white head, slightly oily feel, amazing. Big achievement here. Brokensail sucks

On tap @ Beachwood Brewing. Hazed pale golden color with a white head. Tons of grassy hops and herbs. Pine, orange and lemon peel, and some fruit loops. Slight butterscotch. Good melon aroma to it, too. Flavor is fairly bitter and piney. Lots of grass and melon. Sweet citrus and fruit loops. Sort of a cracker and butterscotch malt profile. Citric and bitter finish.

Tap. I generally don’t rate Beachwood beers anymore, but this one is an absolute home run (although I guess most of their beers are). Hazed pale yellow pour with laser etched lace. Floral, tropical and citrus aromas. Candied tangerine, light dank, some Nelson diesel. Flavors are fruit and tropical. Medium bitter with a bitter balance. A touch less assertive than some of Julian’s other seven point one IPAs ( which I don’t mind). Floral, juicy, lychee. Grassy dry hop. Minimal malt. Clean ferment. Lively carb, dry. Excellent!
