I had this on tap at Beachwood Brewing in Long Beach, and, Wow, what a beer. Huge coffee aroma and flavor, creamy, rich mouthfeel and lots of nice hints of flavor. Loved it. It went down soooo smoothly daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 7, 2012

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. The beer pours black with a medium beige head and patches of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of black coffee, licorice and sweet malt. The finish is roasty with a lingering mocha aftertaste. Very good stout, and my favorite beer of the day. Poured on tap at the Beachwood BBQ 1st Anniversary bash. It is almost black in the glass with a medium head. It also had good lacing. in the glass the is a sweetness like molasses with some vanilla. Slight nose of alcohol. Taste is big with coffee, vanilla and black licorice. The oak chips give the beer depth and uniqueness. Great beer.

22 oz. bottle sampled at RBSG, the grand tasting. Pours a deep brown with a dark tan head. Notes of cardamom, coffee, molasses, vanilla, chocolate, earth, tobacco, roasted malts - the coffee and spices almost give a bit of cinnamon to it. Medium-full bodied, with moderate carbonation and a rich palate. Really nice coffee imperial stout. brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 3, 2012
Black in color with a great tan head. Wonderful retention and lacing. Enormous, almost overwhelming coffee aroma. There’s a very nice vanilla note to it, a touch of oak, and tons of cocoa and dark chocolate. Of course, some roast, but great sweetness. The coffee steals the show on the palate, as well. Mild wood and brandy notes, a touch of vanilla and roast, and quite a bit of chocolate, toffee, and molasses. Just wonderful stuff. bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 9, 2012
