COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Hops of Brixton is a classic British-style extra special bitter (ESB). It starts with British Maris Otter malt for a toasty backbone that’s accented with light and dark British caramel malts, adding distinctive toffee notes. Flaked barley adds a gentle silkiness to the mouthfeel. Hops from the East Kent region of England create a floral and earthy hop profile to perfectly balance the malt. London’s calling!

I had this on tap at Beachwood in Long Beach. I really enjoyed this beer. The caramel maltiness plays well with the hop flavors and, all in all, I think this is very well crafted.

Oakes (18199) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 2, 2017
Amber, bit hazy, thin head. Nose is estery with a subtle...not sure if it’s sulphur or what but I’m not digging it. On the palate, sweetish but flabby malts, muddled ester character, high bitterness. This really doesn’t come together.

Shockingly good esb, nice toasty flavors dominate the body it’s sweet and subtly bittered

j12601 (12974) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUN 27, 2017
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear orange amber with a medium sized white head. Softly peppery hops on the nose, dusty malt. Medium bodied, soft malt, toast, a bit of toast and toffee. Toast, malt, gentle bitterness on the finish. Crisp, easy drinking.

mcberko (18422) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 27, 2017
On tap at Loyal Legion, pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings earthy British hops, sole fungal notes and bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of fungal, herbal hops, and bready malt on the underside. Very aggressive for an ESB, with a lingering astringency on the finish. Decent.

3.5
BlackHaddock (7515) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2017
7th Feb 2017: on a flight at the Long Beach brewery. Amber pour, beige head that lasted. Decent ESB with a malt presence that overpowered the hop content, toffee and caramel esters in the aroma and flavour. Becomes a little more bitter towards the end of each sip.
