Draft @ Delaneys w/ clover shaped into the head, Perfect! Easy & smooth w/ only mild smoked taste. I cant taste any bitterness or hops, or alcohol either? Great and goes back easy! Very creamy and, as expected, as thick clinging chucks of lace. Honestly, I prefer it to Guinness... probably b/c of the thinner palate, it just drinks easier. Very good, & a classic!

The beer looks amazing. It has the perfect Irish stout look. The beer is pitch black on the eye, but a beautiful ruby red glow appears in strong light. The beer is clear. On top of the beer an amazing layer of creamy thick almond coloured soft foam is formed, with amazing foam retention. The smell of the beer isnt that strong, but it is nice. I smell some nice, but delicate roasted barley, giving a nice bitter and slightly savoury tone. There are also some sweeter malt tones and some nice liquorice aromas. Hops arent really present in the smell. The taste is good. It is delicate and balanced. There is a lovely bitter tastiness and sweet malts. There isnt much else, but the maltiness is very good. It doent need much else. It has that Irish stout simplicity and perfection. I love the nitrogen like smoothness of the taste. The palate of the beer is perfect. The body is medium and carbonation is low, but the beer is damn smooth. Perfect. The finish is nice and contains some tontines. Near perfect.

Pours very dark reddish brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma has notes of roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is rather similar with malts, chocolate and a hint of liquorice. Finishes with moderately crispy floral notes. Smooth mouthfeel, slightly watery. (500ml can, bb25.08.17)

In de Temple bar pub.. Maar ook al van Heineken Ireland.. Ruikt vooral naar de hot chocolate van Suus. Verder weer prima Guinness achtig.

Tasted from the tap several times during my 3 months stay in Cork. Back on these happy days drinking irish beer and partying with irish people. This one was a Must! Next one please!

Draught at Tom Barry. Almost black with a creamy, off-white head. Roasty malt and coffee aroma. Very smooth. Bitter start with a full, malty finish. Good macro beer.

0.5l can. Black body, creamy and long lasting beige head after the cascade effect. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and berries. Taste of coffee, chocolate, cherries and berries with a bit of floral hop bitterness. Light-medium bodied, creamy texture. Very nice.
