7/6/11 apex @pap. Hazy pale honey color w/ a creamy white head. Lots of clingy ladder-like lacing. 3.5/5 A is oniony, resin, sweet grain, caramel, citrus pith F is kinda armpit-y/dank/oniony/garlic hoppy, a bit sweet and malty, citrus pith 7/3.5/7/3/15 A bit too sweet, med body, crisply hopped but not ’crisp’

After missing this on several occasions, I finally got a chance to try this. 14oz pour at Churchkey is a hazy, burnt orange with a creamy, lacing white head. Nice fruity nose, grapefruit, sticky hops, piney, earthy. Flavor is hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, orange peel, sticky hops, caramel. Full bodied, sticky, bitter finish.

arone12 (932) - Maryland, USA - SEP 29, 2011
Orange color with off white head. Pine needles in the aroma. And so bitter. And delicious.

jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 21, 2011
Draft at Jerry’s. Golden amber with big, foamy, off-white head / Nose of spun sugar, citrus, toast, and pine / Medium body, creamy and chewy, with only moderate hopping but good balance and bitter finish / Somewhat earthy, malty, flavors of candied orange, cherry, bubblegum, and pine / Darn good.

Beerona97 (2399) - Washington, USA - SEP 19, 2011
Clear gold, thick beige head. Aroma of pine, grass, resin and sweet citrus. Taste is quite bitter with a jammy fruit sweetness. Very nice.

Dogbrick (13751) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 19, 2011
On draught at Mellow Mushroom in Dublin. The beer is a mostly clear tangerine color with a medium thick white head that recedes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrus hops, bready malt and caramel. The finish is hoppy with a zesty citrus aftertaste. Above average IPA overall.

stangger (619) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 17, 2011
On tap at hop angel. Hoppy aroma, pine. Strong, overwhelming bitterness, fresh hops. No malt balance. Very one dimensional.

Aargh - I’m a fan of hops but this really melted the roof of my mouth off. Looks fine for a DIPA, head is a little subdued. This beer is about seriously aggressive hops - pine primarily, some citrus backup. It’s frankly just too much and way out of balance.

SuperDave (2555) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - SEP 12, 2011
Deep amber pour with a small foamy head. Aroma is huge pine and citrus hops with some sweet caramel in the back. Flavor is light sweetness and a huge bitter hop finish. Very solid brew!
