Amazing nose, huge hops and pine and citrus. Very clean hop attack and l

Draft at Firkin... Dark clear gold with a thick creamy tope head, great retention... The nose is really dead, a bit of sweet malt no hops, good but boring... First sip this is super bitter and alcoholic for only 7.5%, dies down a bit after awhile but still too piney, lots of oranges and pine... Ok but tough to drink, racer 5 and hop rod are so much better mrmartin (786) - New York, New York, USA - AUG 29, 2011
Amber pour with small white head. Mild but Resiny hop nose. Medium chalky body. Pine hops over big malt backbone. Dry lingering slighly oily finish. Decent DIPA beernbourbon (1600) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - AUG 28, 2011
Tap. Pour is a deep clear copper with a thin white head. Aroma is light rye-like malt and a clean mostly piny hop character with hints of citrus. Flavor also lightly spicy malt and pine hop. Clean and easy to drink. tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - AUG 24, 2011
Draft. Pour is bright gold with a good white head with good retention. Aroma is lots of citrus, starfruit/grapefruit hoppiness with some lemon and grass in there. Taste is very nice: lots of starfruit/lemons with a good malt balance. Not overly sweet and no astringency. Palate is oily, average carbonation, medium body. I’m a much bigger fan of this than Racer 5.

Clear amber color/ ivory head. Pine sap, woody, floral aromas. Medium bodied. Nicely bitter wood, pine sap, grapefruit, citrus hoppy flavors with a solid pale malt base--very good. kenwall17 (284) - new york, New York, USA - AUG 2, 2011
Mild malts and hops. The low alcohol content (for a DIPA) makes it a very drinkable beer. Beautiful golden color. glennmastrange (2924) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - AUG 1, 2011
Tap. Moderate malt notes of roasted and caramel, heavy pine and grapefruit for the hops, light soap for the yeast with background notes of green pineapple and solvent. Head is small, frothy, slightly off-white with some slippery lacing and good legs, and is mostly. Color is sparkling clear amber. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily with a soft carbonation. Although this beer has a bite here and there, everything it has says DIPA and there is still a somewhat easy drinking quality to it. popery (2231) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 28, 2011
Tap at City Beer Store. I’ve had it a few times before, but this keg seemed particularly good. It has a huge hoppy aroma, full of fresh cut grass, marijuana, lemons, lemongrass, earth and mineral notes. Good malt background that stays out of the way. Packs a lot of flavor for the abv. Great DIPA. tia (2228) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - JUL 24, 2011
Tap @ Capital Ale Downtown. I may have found a new favorite. I always like their Racer 5. Clean big hops + long hop finish. Perfumey stuff comes up as it warms. Like Ruination, my current favorite. I think I’ll have to have them side by side- more than once- just to be sure...
