Sampled at The Stables Beer Lovers Anonymous. Lightly hazy golden. Small white head is soapy. Subtle and very nice. Not over the top hops with soft pine and fruit with floral notes. Very light caramel. An understated beer and definitely a nice one.

Draft at Rattle N Hum in NYC. Poured a cloudy orange color. Aroma is not overwhelming for an DIPA. Nice citrus and hop taste, not overwhelming. Nicely balanced.

Nose is relatively light and dead for an IIPA. Moderately sweet taste, moderately bitter, nice fruity citrus, grapefruit and apricots, lots of cotton candy and honey. Decent.

Draft. Pours a clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Heavy hop and small malt aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a good bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Very good brew.

Draught at Broadway. Nice hoppy Double IPA with some nice tones of grapefruit and citrus. Well done and ABV feels like its high, but not overpowering.

On tap at PB TapRoom. Pours a dark copper color. Mild aroma. Hops dominate the front and mid palate along with a note of cream and red apple skins on the finish. Nice, but I wasnt a fan of the sweetness.

On tap at Fountainhead. Golden color with a citrusy-sweet aroma of sugar and medium hops. Flavor is sweet and full of floral and citrus hops, but seems off to me. Finish is light.

Draft at Haymarket. Pours an attractive bronze with fluffy head. Nose is fresh piney hops and different. Light fruity note as well. On taste, clean bitterness, though is also quite minerally that is distracting. Good malt backbone and clean finish. Not too shabby.

On tap at Churchkey DC in March 2010. A: Pours a somewhat-dark copper with some orange tints to it. Nice off-white head and a bit of lacing. S: Very nice. Lots of floral and citrus hops with a tad bit of caramel sweetness in the background. T: Lots of hop bitterness. Nothing too overpowering or extraordinary, but certainly not balanced. Citrus and floral hops shine through with a bit of an herbal zest in the background. Some caramel malt in the background. M: Medium bodied with good carbonation and only a hint of alcohol. D: Very drinkable. My glass was gone way too fast. Another great (D)IPA coming from the folks in Healdsburg. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 03-16-2010
