On tap at Bistro DIPA Fest. This amber ale poured with a decent off-white head and a malty aroma. There is a mellow caramel malt base enhanced by significant hop bitterness. phaleslu (10097) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 18, 2011
Draft served in a tulip at International Tap House-Soulard. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of herbal, oily hops, citrus peel, and sweet caramel malts. Flavor of herbal, oily hops and not much else- some tea, sweet caramel malts, and lemon citrus maybe. Medium-bodied, with an oily, smooth mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Wow, this is bitter and hoppy and good. Seems to have more kick than 7.5% too. sebletitje (10048) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUL 7, 2014
Bouteille 66cl @ RBBSG III, courtesy of Benzai.
GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 2, 2010
On tap on Paradiso. Pours a clear orange with a two finger tan head. Excellent retention and lacing. Very nice beta acid hoppy nose with floral hops, mango peel, grapefruit rind. Taste has some distinct booziness with pineapple rum and light mango. Not outstanding. Very boozy even though it is only 7.5%. MartinT (9795) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 1, 2014
My Bottom Line:
DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 15, 2014
Starkly floral, this quality West Coast Double IPA also shares lean honeyed cereals before making room for a grassy and citrusy hop finish.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the misty honey blond.
-The resinous hop bitterness is relatively soft (softer than the usual Double IPA’s anyway).
-Malts develop biscuity angles in the second half.
-Alcohol is deceptively well hidden. This drinks like a 7% IPA (why is it so strong (9%) then?)
-Citrusy fruitiness recalls passionfruit and candied ginger at times.
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2014 22oz bottle, shared with Robby and Alicia. Mostly me, though. Bottle reads best by 06/05/2014. Mostly clear golden harley davidson orange / rust color. Thin, kind of bubbly ring of off-white head. Dots and ropes of lace. Leaves pretty decent lace, towards the end. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Great big resiny grapefruity hop aroma. I can smell it from feet away. Tons of good grapefruity hop. Good bigger bitter taste. Light sweet taste. Good light hint of the 9% alcohol. Very nice, smooth, enjoyable DIPA. Pretty reasonably drinkable. 77ships (9631) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUL 7, 2014
650 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG III. Thanks to Benzai! Golden. Fruitier kind of DIPA, resin, resin, exotic, pineapple with white grape. Still quite bitter. Nice, nothing special but quite satisfactory. arminjewell (9581) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAR 20, 2014
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, picked up at Supermarket Liquor. Clear orange pour with white, lacing head. Aroma brings big dank notes with pine, weed, grass into some nice grapefruit juice, orange, some hints of biscuity, bread notes. Taste is a mix of herbal, grassy, dank notes into some orange, grapefruit, earthy notes, nice biscuit, caramel, finishing with more grapefruit, slightly sweet almost but fairly bitter as well. Nicely done, nothing amazing but great level of flavor and balance. tderoeck (9471) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 20, 2014

Clear orange beer, creamy yellow head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, lots of exotic fruits, mango, passion fruits, bit piny. MF: ok carbon, full body, creamy texture. Taste: sweet ripe exotic fruits, bit piny, bit resinous, nice bitter hops, citrus and grapefruit. Aftertaste: bitter, citrus, quite some grapefruit, resinous touch, sweet, some honey.
Tap at Blind Tiger. Hazy pale amber ber with a thin creamy white head. Aroma is lightly hoppy with a nice bright orange marmalade character. Lightly pithy bitterness on the back, but in general its quite nice. Soft palate with a light sticky resinousness toward the back. As it warms, it becomes more obviously fruity. Bitterness softens, with a lightly spicy herbal character to the hops. It’s a very lovely IIPA.
