Pours golden with a nice thick frothy white head. Resin, grapefruit, pine, with a bit of juicy tropical accents backed by moderate bready sweetness. Classic west coast style with a little more body/sweetness than the typical super-attenuated hop bomb. Really, really nice stuff. tobias (208) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - MAR 23, 2014
22oz bottle: pours bright copper color with a tinge of haze. Quickly fading white head. Aroma is intense. Tons of citrus with hints of flowers and pine. Orange and honey. The flavor is awesome but it didn't quite maintain the intensity. Great balance. Lots of orange. Grapefruit and pine in the background. A little malt and honey. Linger pleasant but clean finish. Not overly bitter. Tons of flavor and aroma. I'd say this is near the apex!

Poured from a 22oz bomber bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Orange in color, slightly opaque. Decent head with good lacing. Aroma is a balance between citrus and sweetness. As for the taste I have two words... Phe - nomenal. The feel on the palate is medium and much lighter than expected for an 8.25 ABV double IPA. dwyerpg (6493) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - OCT 5, 2017
The best part of this beer by far is that it's so smooth I thought it was a standard ipa. Didn't taste the alcohol at all Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAR 4, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2015 2009 Boulder Strong Ale Festival: Rusty hue. Rich caramel malts with flowery and zingy aromas. Sweetness made me think of Fruity Pebbles cereal. Juicy caramel apple as well. Nip of hop bitterness was nice. Solid and tasty double IPA. RERATE, on tap at Oskar Blues Home Made Liquids & Solids: Incredible beer. Seemed much better than my GABF sample. Uber hoppy, but with a perfect amount of bitterness. Citrusy goodness. RE-RERATE (bottle in WA): Rich malts (toffee, honey and bread) and rich hops (flowers, grass, sweet herbs, spices). Boldly hopped yet not overly bitter. Great beer.

I really liked this beer. I had it out of the tap. It had strong hop bitterness yet easy to drink Hopped_Silly (418) - California, USA - FEB 5, 2014
22oz bomber. Newly released and distributed. Elegant aromas of citrus, papaya, mango, honey, and florals. Awesome! Good weight and mouthfeel, with fuller texture and soft, creamy carbonation. Balanced bitterness compliments flavors of citrus, pine, papaya, mango, and florals, with a hint orange sweetness. My new favorite seasonal release from Bear Republic. Good stuff.

Pours orange-amber with a thick off white head. Aroma is sweet pineapple & tropical fruits - fruit punch. Taste is sweet tropical fruits up front followed by really nice bitterness for a long finish - there’s a faint hint of honeydew in the finish too. For a DIPA, this one seems really well balanced. Alcohol not present at all. Good job! onceblind (10861) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 29, 2014
Clear light copper under a rocky white head. Big resiny piney nose cut by some semi-sharp grapefruit zest and hoppy caramel. Flavor is sublimely balanced, more so than I would have thought by the nose. It’s got a wonderful floral resiny hop character, with some bitter grapefruit rind and a strong backbone of caramel malt and amber malt. Some light toffee and biscuitiness as well, but under plenty of resiny and semisweet leafy/grassy hops. A sublime DIPA with balance and complex hops. slowrunner77 (13203) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 1, 2014
one of the better brews in the dipa fest, though not quite at the top. every hoppy beer BR has done has been quite good, and this one’s no exception. big citrus and pine with just enough malt to not be a palate wrecker. a touch thicker than Racer 10."
