On tap at Bar Great Harry. Pours a hazy deep black with a medium sized beige head. My first thought is “Where’s the nectarine?” Seriously, there was nothing on the nose to indicate that a nectarine had come into the same room as this beer, let alone being incorporated into it’s production. It does smell decidedly different from the two other treatments (oak aged, and prickly pear) that were on tap at the event. Malt, vanilla, a little funk. Medium bodied, chocolate and roast. No nectarine flavor either. Odd. Light sourness, but not much of it. Finishes up malty with some more gentle sourness, and a touch of wood. Still good, but probably would have been excellent if the nectarine came through to balance out some of the malt. marcus (10231) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 14, 2011

Tasted at the Bistro Barrel aged fest. It pours a murky brown with an off white head. The aroma is interesting with peaches, bourbon, vanilla, and wood. The flavor is peachy with sweet brown sugar and a sour edge in the finish. A little caramel and toffee as well.
