Bottle @ Beer & Ball Saturday, Odense. 13,000th Tasting. Pours black with a creamy head. Roast, bread, caramel and a whiff of citrus. Cookies. Smooth and dry hoppy. S_Side_Smitty (776) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Pours black with a medium light tan head. Aroma is molasses and dark roasted malts. Taste is initially the molasses sweetness followed by those roasted malts. The finish is mildly bitter & gritty malts. Not bad. c0fein (660) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 29, 2013
650ml bottle @ home. Ordered from Ales By Mail. Bottling date 05/20/13. Long lasting sticky foam. Burned cold aroma. Not too toasty black IPA, easier to drink. Yam! Alphadelic (2249) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 22, 2013
A thick, whipped head. Heavy with a wonderful balance of sweet and bitter. Dry hops with a straw and pepper character. Thick body, smooth carbonation. Chocolate finish. Travlr (25267) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - NOV 16, 2013
Bottle. Pretty much black color, thick brown head. Aroma of pine, spruce, burnt licorice. Taste is bog and roasty burnt espresso with anisette in it, dark unsweetened chocolate. Delicious.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 Pour BLACK (unsurprisingly) with large and lasting tan head. Aroma is enchanting - Subdued roasted malt, takes a back seat to hop forward citrus and pine. Taste is surprisingly creamy - almost like the beer is masquerading as a stout. Taste is good, if fleeting. Very transient citrus, some pineapple and grapefruit then malty bitterness on the back end. For a guy that doesn’t usually like Black IPA’s due to their roasted malt dominance this was surprisingly enlightening. johndoughty (5472) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - NOV 9, 2013
Bottle. Black and pored with a small head. Hoppy with a medium body and a lingering hoppiness. Pretty standard for this style which means it is pretty good. Worth trying. AskForJenny (1086) - Ontario, New York, USA - NOV 7, 2013
22 oz - all the required elements are there, the hop aroma, the color, the head. Its a good beer from a respected brewer, however its unremarkable
Drink it if its on hand, but it’s not worth seeking out. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 5, 2013
On tap at Encinitas ale house... Pours a cola dark hue with reddish brown edges and topped with a creamy off-white head... Aroma of papery hop with a mild roast. Old... Flavors of faded piney hops upfront, medium roast and chocolatey middle and finishes with a medium bitterness. Medium bodied although a little strengthy. Not a fresh sample it seems. Bomber from the craft beer Mecca of State Line Liquors in Elkton, MD. Deep, dark obsidian with a medium, soft, long lasting dark tan head. Aroma of robust coffee and melted bittersweet chocolate. Bold and richly intertwined flavors of coffee, caramel, chocolate, roasted malt, and crisp, floral hops. Silky mouthfeel and a medium-long, slightly bitter finish. Easily one of the best Ack IPAs out there.
