650 ml bottle, thanks to me, myself and I. Pours a black colour with a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, salty licorice, resin, caramel and pine. Flavour is very rich with strong floral hoppiness, roastiness, pine needles, spruce, salty licorice, dark chocolate, some coffee and mild herbal notes. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel and very soft carbonation. Long lingering bitter finish with floral bitterness, roastiness and some salt. Excellent balance. Oh my, this is good. Bomber from Hayduke. We had this together via facebook chat. A big tan head that has large bubbles that does not seem to fall. The beer is almost black with some red highlights. Very stout looking. Some very nice fruit in the aroma along with earth. I wish it were a little bigger. All kinds of hops are tasted. Complex fruit. Pineapple, with citrus. Some spiciness. A hint of chocolate and roasted notes. This beer is beautifully balanced and is a delight to drink. Cocoa comes in late as does some lactic. The feel is nice and smooth and has some richness to it. This is akin to a stout IPA. Good! Cory (372) - , California, USA - APR 12, 2014
Draft. Strong orange citrus aroma with some great juicy mandarin flavors with smoke and ash undertones across the palate. The ash lingers in a way thatvit compliments the bitter oils left on your tongue. This is one of the best black IPAs I’ve had. glennmastrange (2871) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - SEP 17, 2013
Bottle. Moderate to heavy bread, cereal and toasted for the malt, light to moderate pine for the hops, and dough for the yeast, with a hint of charcoal in the background. Head is small, light brown, with good lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then the long finish is lightly sweet and acidic, and moderately bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily with a carbonation between soft and lively. Although a little stronger in malt than hops, this Black IPA is otherwise perfect. tiong (7306) - Espoo, FINLAND - OCT 15, 2013

Pours pitch black with a bubbly white head. Aroma of roasty malts, grassy hops, juicy fruitness, licorice and citrus. Taste is smooth, roasty and hoppy with notes of grass, licorice, citrus. Finish is dry, bitter, roasty and fruity with loads of licorice. Quite roasty black IPA, almost feels like an hoppy IS instead. Still very tasty and balanced, though.
Bottle. Pretty much black color, thick brown head. Aroma of pine, spruce, burnt licorice. Taste is bog and roasty burnt espresso with anisette in it, dark unsweetened chocolate. Delicious. JonMoore (2067) - Loughborough, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 2, 2014
Bottle - black with a large tan coloured head. Appealing aroma of light roasted hops, sweet malt, caramel. Flavour doesn’t disappoint, same elements, plus some balancing hoppy bitterness, citrus and pine, that dominates the finish. Medium to full bodied, smooth - a delight to drink. julesjis (256) - Oregon, USA - AUG 27, 2014
Great dark color and beautiful tan head. This beer looked delicious. The beer was a bit sweet and bitter, maybe a bit too bitter in the finish for me. slowrunner77 (12051) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 11, 2014
"Pretty much exactly what I expected/hoped for from this brew. Like all the other "Racer" IPAs. pungent hops, both pine and citrus, ample bitterness...and a light but distinct roasted malt, coffee abd coca character. At no point do you realize you are drinking an imperial strength brew. I don’t think this will have a long shelf life, but very good fresh. Finishes bitter and dry." kevinsenn (2215) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 21, 2015
Bottle from North Station Liquors, Boston. Great aroma of cherry candy, With ever so slight roasty notes. Full body, a little flat. Cherry and other fruits, roasty and licorice notes, bitter finish. Nice black ipa.
