Great dark color and beautiful tan head. This beer looked delicious. The beer was a bit sweet and bitter, maybe a bit too bitter in the finish for me. slowrunner77 (11912) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 11, 2014
"Pretty much exactly what I expected/hoped for from this brew. Like all the other "Racer" IPAs. pungent hops, both pine and citrus, ample bitterness...and a light but distinct roasted malt, coffee abd coca character. At no point do you realize you are drinking an imperial strength brew. I don’t think this will have a long shelf life, but very good fresh. Finishes bitter and dry." kevinsenn (2180) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 21, 2015
Bottle from North Station Liquors, Boston. Great aroma of cherry candy, With ever so slight roasty notes. Full body, a little flat. Cherry and other fruits, roasty and licorice notes, bitter finish. Nice black ipa. mike_77 (6561) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - NOV 27, 2012
Hoppy aroma. Light caramel flavours with a good balance of hops. Has a thick feel and a warming finish. TeamTrappist (832) - jericho, New York, USA - APR 2, 2013
Tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a deep dark mahogany with a thin white head. Malts hit first in the nose followed by sweet hops. The malt starts strong like the nose but the hops finish this with some sweet notes I get a hint of licorice but the malt lifngers long and deep through the finish. Full bodied and complex yet super drinkable.

Thought this was a damn good CDA. Pours right black with off white foam head. Soem pine in the nose, but a lot of roast. Really good blend between the malt and hops makes for a ton of flavors (chocolate, hazelnut, pine, resin, roasted nuts) that blend well and are very easy drinking. Another winner from Bear Republic. Bottle. Opaque black pour with a tall, dense brown head. Aroma is citrus and pine notes thrust in front of roasted malt, coffee and hints of dark chocolate. Taste is chocolate and pine mixed with floral hops, citrus, dark coffee burnt caramel and roasted malt. Body is medium with a strong, dense carbonation and strong lingering hop bitterness. Finishes a touch sweeter with more of the chocolate and caramel coming through along with pine oils, citrus fruit, coffee and roasted malt. Bottle from Bine and Vine: Appeared dark blackish brown color with a thick frothy head. Aroma is subtle with minor traces of hops and roasty malts which reminds me of Black IPA style. The flavor holds a strong rich character of roasted malts that are sustained by a burst of hops that suggest grapefruit, pine, and tastes of perfume or some other taste of scented air freshener. rejtable (2622) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 13, 2013
Tap at Big Hunt. Pours cola with some head. Nose is roasted coffee and aromas show some vanilla and earthy bitterness. Tastes are light sweet and medium to heavy bitterness. Fully body almost creamy. Lovely. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 7, 2013
22oz bottle. Dark brown color. Thin khaki head. Couple dots of lace. Bigger body. Lighter, kind of crisp carbonation. Awesome aroma, pretty much exactly what I want from a black IPA. Good bitter dark chocolate, dark roast, nice coffee malt flavors, along with some big earthy, herbal, piney hop. Good moderate to stronger bitter taste, minimal sweet. Awesome black IPA... Good balance of citrus, nutty herbal hop, and roasty herbal chocolate... Def. my kind of black IPA. Assertively hoppy, satisfyingly hoppy. Love it.
