COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Café Racer 15™ features aromas of bright citrus and resinous pine from the generous use of Citra, Amarillo, Cascade and Chinook hops which are complimented by a dry malt finish. The result is a high revving Double IPA that is loud and assertive, much like the rebellious street racers who inspired it. Never ride alone...

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy deep golden, rich creamy head. Generus aroma of mango and grapefruit. Somewhat dryish with slimmer body than anticipated. Peppery mango, grapefruit and pine. Heated finish with long piney bitterness. An IIPA without syrup and caramel, with intense citrusy hops? If only all IIPA’s were like this, even if it is somewhat boozy.

Bottle shared at Sander’s in NYC. Pours clear, deep gold with a creamy white head. The aroma holds tons of juicy, ripe grapefruit, orange. Medium to big sweet flavor, lots of ripe citrus, good grapefruit, orange, rich pale malts, moderate booze. Full bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Well and resinous to finish, hefty grapefruit, faint white bread. It’s punchy but still well balanced.

Tannish and a bit hazy, with a bubbly head. Very melony, hints of grapefruit, light florals. It’s a bit chewy, but with more of those melon hops. The malts end up being quite assertive, chewy (from Cali, big shock, huh?), and alcohol kicks in late. All these hops, to me, demand a cleaner, lighter body.

mcberko (17178) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 18, 2011
Sampled on tap for IIPA fest @ Saraveza, pours hazy golden orange with a beige head. Aroma of piney hops, substantial tropical fruits (mango, orange) caramel and buttery malts. Flavour is very rich resinous, piney hops, with the aforementioned tropical fruits, leafy / grassy hops and caramel malt backing. Excellent IIPA.
