This English Estate October Ale is brewed with 10% raw wheat and 10% split peas. Fermented with our house Scottish ale yeast and barrel aged for 100 days in 1st beer use French Oak barrels.

On tap at the BD in Chalfont. Poured a golden color with an averaged sized bubbly head. Some earthiness, floral, wood, and some fruitiness. Some alcohol burn in the finish.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear gold with a filmy white head. The nose has some astringent cleaner, pale bread. Medium sweet flavorbwith harsh alcohol, butterscotch, ripe citrus. Full bodied with fine carbonation. How finish, lots of booze, simple bread. Harsh.

Sample on tap at the brewpub. Clear gold pour with thin white head. Aroma is leafy hop aroma, tea, light honey. Taste is kind of hot, boozy, light honey. Palate is med full bodied with med carbonation.

Draft at source. Nose is lightly spicy with a rye like presence. Light woody tannins. Taste is very malty and a great Scottish ale. Light peat. Wonderful caramel and toffee not too sweet. Wonderful woodsy tannins help dry it out.

Draught at Bear Republic. Clear golden liquid with medium white head. Aroma of lemon, wood, toast, light caramel and grain. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of caramel, booze, wood and lemon. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Ok.

Lots going on in this tawny brew. Gives impression of brandy with it’s fruitiness, but there’s no brandy. Oaky, sweet smelling. Hints of peat make their way into the aroma and flavor, but just hints. This is a malty barreled sweet brew, though not overly sweet or hot, and with a unique flavor."

Ibrew2or3 (8607) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 1, 2013
On draft at Tap 25 in Livermore and enjoyed in the company of Livermore spokesman, ratebeer’s own, joeneugs. It pours up with a copper body and slight haze and supporting an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet citrus hard candy, some hop resin and mixing with smooth sweet bourbon like booziness. The taste is robust with sweet malts, sweet vanilla infused bourbon and then malt sweetened citrus hoppiness. Into the finish it seems smooth whiskey like notes are lingering into the after taste. Solid brew and balanced too.

Tap at Barcade, Brooklyn - 02/03/12. Pours a hazy reddish/amber colour with a thinnish white head. Sweet malts and caramel on the nose and also some sweet fruit aroma’s. Tastes as nose allied to a little honey, syrup, burnt sugar. Medium to full in body, not too much carbonation, sweet and boozy finish.

Slipstream (2612) - USA - MAY 22, 2012
On tap at Rattle’n’Hum Bear Republic event. A sweet and grainy barleywine-type brew, with a little wild funk. Sweet, fruity aroma, a warm finish, and some dry oak. Eccentric stuff, but interesting for sure.
