Draft at source. Nose is lightly spicy with a rye like presence. Light woody tannins. Taste is very malty and a great Scottish ale. Light peat. Wonderful caramel and toffee not too sweet. Wonderful woodsy tannins help dry it out.

FoBAB. I saw this beer was made with split peas and I had to give it a try. I actually couldnt really taste split peas, but the beer was interesting nonetheless. Pours murky brown. Little bit of spices in the beer, but it had heavy sweet caramel finish. Well hidden 10.5% ABV. I liked it.

Old GABF 2010... Huge Carame malt and bread with dangerous hidden booze. really nice and easy. Oak and fruit, a touch of vanilla all come through smoothed over and nice

On draft at the Bistro Barrel fest. This one pours orange with an off white head. The aroma has some oak and tropical fruit. The flavor is mildly sweet with notes of tropical fruit, molasses, oak and definitely some pea soup in the background. This borders on not working, but it does. I liked it.

At 2012 Avery Strong Ale Fest. Slightly hazy amber bronze, not much head. Funky aroma with a slight acidic sourness, candy sugar, toffee, and a touch of raisin. Smelled a little bitter but I couldnt figure out any hop tones. Pretty sweet flavor with candy sugar, apple, toffee, raisin, cherry, and more bright boozy toffee. Nice flavor but too sweet.

On tap at RattlenHum Bear Republic event. A sweet and grainy barleywine-type brew, with a little wild funk. Sweet, fruity aroma, a warm finish, and some dry oak. Eccentric stuff, but interesting for sure.

Pours hazy golden with an off white head. Nose is fruits and caramel with a dominating sweetness. Same in the flavor with the addition of white wine and honey.

Tap at Barcade, Brooklyn - 02/03/12. Pours a hazy reddish/amber colour with a thinnish white head. Sweet malts and caramel on the nose and also some sweet fruit aromas. Tastes as nose allied to a little honey, syrup, burnt sugar. Medium to full in body, not too much carbonation, sweet and boozy finish.
