Tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a light copper. Nose is malty and a bit tart. Starts slightly tart then the Belgian yeast and flavors take over. A bit of warmth. Some light fruit notes too. Ends a bit acidic and a touch sweet. But pretty good. anders37 (26641) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUN 13, 2011

4oz draft pour at Rustico Alexandria. Poured a very clear, golden orange color with a small, very lightly off-white head. Aroma was booze, lots of sweetness in there - totally clean malt character - alcohol burning. solidfunk (8954) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - JUL 13, 2016

32oz growler from Mom’s in Arlington, pours a mostly clear amber with some soapy, sticky white head. Nose is interesting, malt, something starchy like a soy bean, some dried leaves, some faint oak, yeast, some foreign booze - like Armagnac or something. Flavor is similarly unique, it really doesn’t fit any style. Redolent of honeycomb, some golden raisin, lightly woody but lightly herbal too, a touch medicinal maybe, some butterscotch, light spice, light vanilla. Full bodied, oily, lasting finish. Very interesting. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - NOV 21, 2009
Sampled at FoBAB 09. Awesome name. Also had no idea this had split peas in it. Hazy murky amber pour, some head. Aroma is caramelly and a bit wheaty. Kind of strange. Flavor is pretty strong and caramelly also. Really not sure what to make of this one, but it was aight. JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - DEC 6, 2009

Very sweet, rather heavy body, soft carbonation and smooth, a bit sticky, high malts.
Sweet long palate, nice, yet rather too extreme
