Draught. Perhaps a little too cold. Slight yeasy aroma, not unpleasant. Poured brown with thin white head. Some lacing. Malty flavour, caramel and a bit of fruit. Hoppy all over the tongue finish. joergen (28102) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 19, 2008

Roasted aroma of caramel, chocolate and dried fruits.
Roasted flavour of caramel, chocolate and dried fruits with notes of hops.
Hoppy finish. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 11, 2008
Tap at Blind Tiger. Deep amber beer topped by a thick white head. Aroma is quite spicy with some fairly smoky phenolics. Palate comes across a little bit thin with a soft earthy bitterness complementing the light amber malt sweetness. Minerally and clovey flavour. Moderate bitterness. It’s okay, but not great. can8ianben (1545) - State College, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 22, 2008
I love the concept of brewers experimenting like this. Blending two of their different werts and then throwing a different yeast in the fermentor - shear brilliance! This was a tasty fellow, mostly hops, but also some delicious syrupy malt goodness to balance that out. Darker than most of their other beers, I’d have a hard time calling this one a belgian ale because of the high hop notes that I detected. Fascinating, but maybe not a beer I’d return often to. Pours hazy amber with a thick off-white head. Hoppy and sweet aroma with caramel and Belgian yeast. More hops in the taste. Grapefruit, mango, and resin mix well with the earthy malt. The yeast brings a sweet funkiness that makes this more than the typical Belgian IPA. Very nice. BrotherGrendel (787) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 5, 2008
On tap @O’Briens. Dense amber hue, moderate off white head, light lacing. Nose is very subtle with a touch of toffee and caramel, some grassy hops. Taste is drying bitter hops with light earthy tones, some toffee in the middle, finishes thick caramel malt. Medium-bodied, watery texture, moderate carbonation. Mostly subdued nose and flavor here, not a great balance, might have been an off-keg... doubleo (1432) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 29, 2008
On-tap at SD Brewing Co. Pours cloudy brown/red with a creamy, offwhite head, spider web lace. Smells subdued sweet and red fruity malty and slightly hoppy as well. Tastes hoppy and dry malty up front with a lingering malty sweetness, bready and slightly spicy as well. Medium body, good carbonation. skibumphishead (259) - Massachusetts, USA - AUG 16, 2008
12oz draft at the Dirty Truth in downtown Northampton. This was a great after dinner beer full of malty caramel flavors. It was in the "Belgian" box on the chalkboard of 40 drafts. It tastes like a Belgian brown with a hint of west coast hops. Good beer from a great brewery. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 10, 2008
