Draught at Birreria Paradiso. Dark golden color, edge head, scant lacing. Aroma of malt and berries. Start starts sweet, finishes bitter. Decent enough. mcberko (20936) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 8, 2015
On tap at Apex, pours an opaque amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is sharp, with notes of Belgian yeast, earthy notes, and feet - not much in the hop department. Flavour is well-balanced, bringing out Belgian yeast, light candied sugar and floral hops. Decently cohesive, though a bit messy. Decent, but not up to Bear Republic’s usual standard. On tap at flying saucer. Pours a clear copper with a small frothy whote head. The aroma is a sweet hop with grapefruit and citrus. Medium mouthfeel with a bitter hop bite and nice bitter finish. Hides the alcohol well, a good belgian from Bear Republic. bhensonb (16394) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 16, 2009
Draft at Sacramento Brewing Company. Very dark, but clear, brown color with a significant creamy beige head. Aroma seems to be resin hop. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor seemed to start grapefruit then turned into fruit and pine. The flavor is smooth and massive. The finish is dry, fruity and wonderful. My mouth probably isn’t good enough for such a good beer. Sample at Barley’s Smokehouse (thanks Ja Bier!). The beer is a mostly clear brownish-amber color with a medium off-white head that lingers awhile. Stringy lace. Aroma of yeast, roasted malt and hops. Medium body with a chewy texture and flavors of yeast, caramel malt and grassy hops. The finish is dark fruits and leaves a yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.
