Aroma is very sour. Flavor is also very sour like eating a lemon! Delicious! Palate is sour as well. Overall, sour! mcberko (17823) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 24, 2013
On tap at Bear Republic, pours a hazy amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma is very complex, with loads of wild yeast, oak barrels, and some lightly tart fruits. Flavour is exceedingly complex, full of an amazing blend of wild yeast, followed by oak wood barrels, and very subtle lightly tart fruitiness. The wild yeasts create an amazingly complex and elegant flavour profile. Highly drinkable, not revealing any of the 9%. Awesome stuff. bhensonb (15190) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 14, 2009
Tap at the Bistro BA fest. Pours dark hazy amber with fine bubbles and froth. Wonderful sour aroma. Medium body. Nice sour stone fruit flavor. Oak and astringency. Funk. Very fine ale. Loved it. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 18, 2011

Aroma: not a great deal happening but what is there is pretty good. The wine soaked wood shows through pretty well.
Appearance: Cleanish golden brown with a thin off white head and some lace.
Flavour: Big white wine barrel with some excellent almost smoky wooden notes. Expertly pitched sourness. Just the right amount of juicy and puckery sour with a hint of acidity.
Palate: Smooth as you like but dry at the same time. Feels like a Belgian lambic and obviously, that’s no bad thing.
Overall: Massively underrated if you ask me. Easy to drink but plenty sour, just not dry enough to really challenge your palate. No alcohol apparent and the finish is superbly long and juicy.
A very very good beer with the barrel integrated really well and the blend has been done with care and attention. Love it.
Sampled at Raliegh Rare and Vintage 2013. This was definitely the dark horse favorite of the event! Clearish amber pour with decent offwhite head. The sourness, tart, and acidity were all in balance. Not very funky. Slight peachy or persimmon or maybe cherry flavors. damn good. With a festival full of many delicious beers, this was the fave!

On tap at Bistro BA Fest poured a clear amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, citrus, light cherry and light barnyard. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Man, anyone who has rated this as anything but less than awesome is wicked retahded. Clean reddish amber pour and off white head. Nose is fantastic, wild floral notes with a touch of hibiscus. Peppery and funky with a touch of citrus/pineapple. Peppery and floral notes in the flavor with a light fruityness and lovely wild/funky character. Light, dry, tart mouthfeel/palate. Absolutely great, very dry and acidic and floral. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - FEB 10, 2013
On tap. Clear golden with a foamy off white head. Sour cherry, lemon, and earthy sour dough aroma and taste with a nice bright and tart finish. Very good.
