Tap at Bear Republic. Hazy deep red pour. Slight smoky peat, citrus hops aroma Taste is big malty with tons of citrusy hops. Very big bitter hoppy brew. gkost (1069) - Alaska, USA - JUL 3, 2009
on tap at the brewpub. Beautiful deep amber pour. Nose was loads of malt mixed with big citrus and pine hops. Flavor is malty caramel, sharp hop bitterness, some alcohol and hop sweetness. Finishes a bitter dry. Nice offering. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - JUN 3, 2009
On tap at the brewpub in Healdsburg. Pours a deep, maple brown body with a thin, beige head that leaves a soft, whispy lacing. Aroma is very rich and malty as well as bright with lots of citrus. Lots of dark caramels with a soft toasted bread. Floral citrus and a touch of earth. Flavor is very rich and sweet as well with a nice balance of more floral hops. Big time, thick caramels with a bit of chocolate blend very well with a resiny grapefruit before ending slightly toasty. Finishes rich and sweet with a touch of vanilla and nuts in the aftertaste. Palate is full and silky with a light drying, rich finish. Overall, a really enjoyeable beer at the brewpub. Lots of rich flavors, but lots of balancing fruits as well. Good one.

Tap at Bear Republic. Reddish-amber color with a nice off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt and piney hops. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, slight roast, and lots of citrusy/piney hops. Tasty stuff. Medium-full on the palate. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 12, 2009
Draft at Tyler’s in Apex. Brown red with a soft off white head. Citrusy hop aroma, sweet caramels. Taste is odd, sweet, some peated malts, caramel, but dominated by citrus and floral hops. DYCSoccer17 (3691) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 12, 2009
6-8 ounce snifter on tap at Sacramento Brewing Co. Sweet, chewy, caramel malt aroma with some nice piney hop notes and light vanilla, too. Nice. Mildly transparent mahogany body with a yellow-tan head that diminishes slowly. Good lacing. Very sweet, sticky, with chewy maltiness present to start in this beer. Mild roastiness in the middle, along with some floral flavors. Pine/floral hop flavors present themselves late. Pretty damn tasty. Taverner (1100) - San Ramon, California, USA - APR 19, 2009
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2009 On tap @ The Hopyard. Almost IPA like in flavor. Pours brownish red with white head. Lots of deep resinous hops, but not dank or cannabis like. More soapy and brisk. Lots of florals on this one. SECOND ANALYSIS: Pours brown with ruby core held to light. Head is tan and soapy. Flavor - amazingly smooth with a dry and clean finish tgncc (3129) - Bellmore, New York, USA - APR 13, 2009
Lots of floral hops in the nose. I’m coming to see this as a pattern in their beers. The color is a deep red, slightly brown color, tan head. The floral hops, combined with resin hops, dominate the flavor of this beer, and its finish. There is a lingering, astringent hop residue on the palate. Decent beer overall.
