Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a tulip. Reddish brown, slightly hazy, with a thick tan head that laces beautifully. Citrusy hop aroma with malt base. Taste starts with malts and then the hops come through with a nice bitter, followed by spiciness of the rye. Full body, thick and almost creamy on the palate. Dry, bitter finish.

Bottle at home. Aroma is thick rye malt, hops, pine resin, ripe fruits, caramel, soft herbal/spicy notes, hint of toffee. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and bitter. Body is above medium, nice thickness and balance. A prime specimen of rye IPA, bittersweet and rich with a sturdy rye body.

Very old bottle, maybe 2011. Cloudy dark brown with thick sediment. Caramel, chocolate, coffee, resin, alcohol. Heavy bitter and medium sweet. Low carbonation, probably some lost in cellaring. Long, spicy and bitter finish. Reminds me of mud cake. This is a big, big beer.
