Pours hazy amber with a medium white head. Aromas of pineapple, kiwi, peach, pine. Taste is very fruity with a moderate malty backbone, considering that it’s a ln imperial IPA it"surprisingly crushable.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2016 Bottle from BevMo! in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is fruity / bitter sweetness. Some kind of marmalade? A dirty, earthy mealtimes. Taste is a little bit bitter for me and the sweetness seemed a little disconnected. Interesting but my least favorite Bear Republic beer.

Hopmaestro (1653) - Örebro, SWEDEN - DEC 10, 2015
Aroma is sweet and malty caramel tones and sticky pine oil. Flowers and resin. Taste is sweet, caramelly in the first wave, before a resinous and mid-spicey rye tone sets in. There’s some apricots in here and citrus tones, but leaning on a smooth and almost creamy mouthfeel. Very well balanced and tasty rye IPA.

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark caramel color with orangish hue, thick tan cap, heavy lacing. Aroma was one of citrus almost floral, taste was similar to the smell, citrus almost piney & slightly spicy, but not too bitter, well balanced with the rye. Goes down smooth. Worth a try.
