This isn’t really fresh, but it’s still drinkable. I can tell when it’s fresh it’s a great beer, so I’m going to give it a little boost in the score to be fair. Plus I know I love the regular IPA from them.

Poured from 22oz bottle a deep amber gold with a large head of foam that dissipated slowly leaving a nice billowy layer that stayed for the entire session.
The smell is very hoppy with a bunch of grapefruit and spices hitting my nose very nicely.
The taste is big on hops up front. Nice flavours of grapefruit and spiciness hit my palate causing me to make a smacking noise. ;^)
There's also a bit of malt presence that sweetens it up just a tad mid way through and the finish is the closest this brew comes to being balanced but...no matter how you slice it, this is one hella good tasting IPA that really satisfies in every category. Oh yeah, aboot the 8%abv...not a factor!
Bottom line: This is a world class IPA. See it? Buy it.

22 ounce bottle. Deep amber orange color. Large rocky beige head with clinging lace. Sweet toasted malt nose. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor has earthy, spicy notes. Dark amber color with a thick foam. Grainy aroma with caramel and rye. The malts are pretty big with rye spice taking over. Bitterness is there too along with some alcohol bite.

From bomber to pint glass. I haven’t had this for a few years. I seem to recall it being more robust in the past. Caramel, pine needles and slight perfume aroma. Pours a clear, pure copper with off-white head that lingers well and leaves slight caking down the glass. Flavor is overt spice and faint citrus. Finishes is moderately strong bitterness. Some goldenrod in the end of the flavor as it warmed. Bumping it up a little based on my views from days gone by. Hop Rod Rye
Cloudy chestnut nut brown with thick dense head and strong lacing.
Bready and hoppy with caramel malt undertones.
Earthy malts with a touch of sweetness (brown sugar) tobacco, spice, and grains.
Medium body, nice carbonation with a nice hop finish.
