Not sure if I got a bad batch or what.
Appearance is horrible with plenty of particulate in the glass and bottle.
Almost no head and no lacing to be seen.
Taste: beer is overly bitter with no real distinguishable hop characteristics except for some notes of pine.
Aroma is the best part about this beer and is reminiscent of tropical fruits.
Malt: tastes of generic 2 row with not much complexity. However it has a medium to full body that at least is in balance with the hops.
With everyone and their mother doing a big Ipa these days, this one just doesn’t stand out. This is the first time I’m considering returning a 6 pack. ICEatALAMO (1350) - Troy, Michigan, USA - APR 9, 2017
Bottle. The pour is a clear golden orange. The aroma is inviting hops, not overpowering. The taste is a solid ipa. The hops are smooth and not overly bitter. An easy drinking ipa

Beautifully blended aroma and taste leans fruity and not overly bitter in spite of 100 IBUs! Wheat and rye reduce sweetness. RedSox2004 (1915) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - APR 2, 2017
Hazy orange with a foamy two-finger white head with great retention and outstanding lace. Big tropical citrus aromas with pine. West coast hop bomb bitterness rules the flavor profile, with generous infusion of pineapple, grapefruit, kiwi and orange. Full body, moderate carbonation, sinfully soft and creamy mouthfeel, and a crisp bitter finish. BigBeer45 (1543) - Michigan, USA - MAR 30, 2017
Bottle served in a glass,
this ipa was a dark yellow in the glass with a touch of orange, the pour gave a nice, creamy white cover, there was good lacing,
the nose had big hop aromas, grapefruit, guava and lemon hops with pine and floral notes, light malt, spice, a little bread, and light malt sweetness,
the flavors were big citrus grapefruit and guava hops with a bit of resin, light malt, orange and lemon fruit, it had just a little fruit and malt sweetness,
there was a generous hop bitterness at the finish that stood around on the tongue for a moment, the hops gave some dryness on the mouth,
this drink had a light medium mouth feel, there was average carbonation and creamy,
the nose was very hoppy, the flavor was the same, lots of citrus,
a big hop beer, a very good IPA.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 6/27/2017. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense a fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big passion fruit, papaya, guava, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, berries, lemon, tangerine, grapefruit, orange peel, light pepper/pine, cracker, rye bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/fruity hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge passion fruit, papaya, guava, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, berries, lemon, tangerine, grapefruit, orange peel, pepper, pine, cracker, rye bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/grassy bitterness and rye spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of passion fruit, papaya, guava, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, berries, lemon, tangerine, grapefruit, orange rind, pepper, pine, cracker, rye bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/fruity hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no lingering hop/rye astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, quickly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is an incredible IPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/fruity hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink; despite the increasingly drying/resinous finish. Very dank, piney, and fairly juicy on hops; with just enough malts for bitterness balance. The rye works really well with the herbal/peppery background qualities of the hops, but never feels too spicy. A highly enjoyable offering. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 25, 2017
12oz bottle. Medium off-white head atop clear amber body, nice lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, light orange/tangerine. Taste is moderately sweet, orange/grapefruit, some tangerine. Medium body, some resin, light acidity. thegreenrooster (4448) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 18, 2017
Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a real nice melon and mango with even some pineapple coming off the beer. Flavor is equally nice tropical fruit with more mango and pineapple. Super fruity with a low bitterness. I really don’t get any of the wheat or rye malt this is all about the hops used. If your going to name your beer hop shovel you better make it pretty damn hoppy and they did here. Leafs93 (2305) - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 18, 2017
Pours gold with a medium white head. Aroma is pine, resin, citrus and mango. Taste is bitter with light sweetness. Medium bodied, good carbonation, crisp finish. islay (2825) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 15, 2017
12 oz. bottle, consumed on 3-14-17. “Best by 05/30/2017.” Pours a bright bronze with a large amount of beige head. Good lacing, which only strengthens the appearance. Strong aroma but too much on the fruit side for my preferences: Peach and pineapple scents. Also pine and pine resin in the nose. Good, piney flavor. Again, sweeter and fruiter than ideal: Cotton candy and peach flavor elements. Freshly cut lemon and grapefruit. Lemon Drop candy. Dry and bitter, almost chemical finish (in a good way). Long, bitter aftertaste. Medium body. Soft in the palate. Reasonably lively. Forgettable palate effects, unfortunately, aside from the powerfully and enjoyably bitter aftertaste. Dialing down the sweet fruitiness and dialing up the dry bitterness possibly could have elevated this beer to greatness. That’s good advice for a lot of IPAs on the market in 2017, in fact.
