3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice and hoppy. Citrus and lots of hops. Not a whole lot else to it, but it tasted decent enough.
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear orange gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is toasted malt and caramel. Thin body, toasted malt, earth, light finish, decent. slowrunner77 (12569) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 30, 2014
"poured as Jack London ESB. a decent example of the style, though not a standout. easy to drink, smooth, and balanced sweet malt and slight hopping & bitterness." GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 19, 2012
Tap at Meridian Pint. Clear light amber. 360 lace. Nose is fruity,
small lemon, soap, toffee malt and whole grain toast. Taste is nutty, minerally. Sharp bitterness. Small tea flavor. Decent. savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - SEP 7, 2012
On draft at Bear Republic. Clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is toasty malt, toffee and some herbal scents. Flavor is rich toasty malt mostly with a medium to low hop bitterness and some fruity esters. Medium body with average carbonation. Great beer for the style, lots of toasty malt but not overly sweet.

Sampler at the brewpub. Caramel color. Aroma is biscuity. Flavor is biscuity with light caramel malt sweetness and mild bitterness. Solid ESB, but nothing spectacular. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - FEB 9, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2012 Draft at brewery, light to medium copper. Very good ESB flavor solid bitterness, balanced flavor. Nice TimE (6067) - Tokyo, JAPAN - AUG 31, 2011
Apricots and strawberries and little bitterness. Again BR aims for an English style beer and falls short. Better than the Endevour, but a bit too sweet for my likely. More balanced and restrained than the Endevour. Not bad, would have again. vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JUN 28, 2010
Draft @ Blind Tiger. Last BR brew of the night. Amber pour with some tan head. Woody, earthy and bitter hop aroma. Flavor has some sweet malt influence. Nickls (2576) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - JUN 25, 2010
(Old BA rate - tap)
Half-finger of lightly tan head; rich coppery brown color with really nice lacing. Hoppy and malty; earthy; rich; lightly sweet and a little dank hoppiness actually in the aroma. Great hoppiness (which surprised me and doesn’t quite match up with some of the other reviews); bit piney and earthy; balanced really well, though and had a more roasted tasting malt in the finish. Medium to thicker; rich and full; nice carbonation; a little creamy. Really enjoyable, and lower abv makes this a great session brew
