Deep amber pour with minimal head. Aroma of sweet malt, brown sugar and a hint of spicy hop. Flavor is similar, but a bit dull. Nothing to see here. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 14, 2010
GABF 2010. Pours a deep woody copper with a thin lasting white head. Aroma is nutty, biscuit, doughy pils malt with vienna, bread, grassy leafy hops with slight solvent. Flavor is slight earth, leather, cereal malts, bread, toast, nuts, a touch gritty with some slight funk and grassy green floral hops. Ok. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - DEC 1, 2010
On tap at Capone’s.
Pours a medium brown with some rusty int. Nice off white head and moderate lacing. Smell is a bit plain with some doughy malts and hints of herbal hops. Taste is better as the malt becomes pronounced and picks up some slight caramel flavors and lots of bread. Hops are of the earthy, herbal variety. Mouthfeel is nice--light to medium body with good carbonation. Good drinkability and one of the better Marzens I’ve had, which seems to be happening more lately.
