On tap at Bear Republic in August 2009.
Pours a reddish amber with a tan head and good lacing. The smell was that of lightly-toasted caramel malt, toffee, and slight hop bitterness. Same in the taste department, although it’s also ever-so-slightly nutty. Fairly light body with appropriate carbonation; excellent drinkability.

Draft sample @ brewpub. Pours a deep brown color with a medium creamy beige head. The aroma is lightly roasted, bready, light smoke with a slight hint of anise. The flavor is lightly roasted malts, earthy, light smoke, slightly nutty, with a mildly bitter finish. I thought this was a bit better than he Lindey’s mild.
