COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This style-defying brew blends West Coast hop sensibilities with Belgian malt and yeast character. Black with a ruby core, this ale is hoppy, spicy, and slightly roasty with a dry malt finish.

On tap at Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a rich tan head and a cola and citrus aroma. There is a piney chocolate flavor. Tastes like Christmas. Interesting and tasty.

Draft at Rose & Crown. Dark brown in color with a one-finger tan head and some lacing. Nice aroma with the malt poking through in roasty/chocolatey notes as well as some citrusy hops. Chocolate and roast are big on the flavor with touches of c/toffee (coffee and toffee) and a decent pine and grapefruit hop note. Smooth mouthfeel with medium-low carbonation and medium-plus body; a bit chewy. This is a really good Black IPA overall. Great malt/hop balance to it.

On draft at Tap Room 307. Black pour. Sweet, fresh hop aroma. It tastes very nice. This is a black IPA with a Belgian vibe - a smooth take on the style. Flavors of grapefruit, coffee, pine, malty sweetness, a touch of Brett. The finish has a dry mouthfeel to it. All in all, a very fine brew.

Deep brown pour with a tight tan head. The aroma has a little bit of earthiness and spicy hops layered over a moderately roasty malt base. A touch of pine and resin in addition to the fairly sticky malts. There is a faint kiss of dark chocolate. Lots of sticky resinous character. Really tasty stuff actually. Very chewy and earthy/citrusy/resiny. Awesome, really.
