Full bodied, oily mouthfeel, boost in the climax.

On tap at Zeitgeist in SF. Pours black with a brown head. Aromas of molasses and dark chocolate. Flavor is oodles of sweet cocoa powder mixed with chocolate syrup, a lightly roasted finish with some bitterness but not much booze.

Very dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma is dense fudgy chocolate with a good amount of dark fruit cherry and plum. Not a lot of roast. Baked bread and a hint of anise. At 2012 Avery Strong Ale Fest. Black with a thin light khaki head. Interesting aroma of light chocolate malts, and cinnamon French toast, with a touch of molasses. Taste is dark and chewy sweet, and a little warm. Dark chocolate, brown sugar, anise, light cinnamon, and a dark fruity essence that isn’t really pronounced, but it’s quietly there.
