Draft at BT. Pours an amber ruby body with an off white head. Fig raisins and some dark fruity esters, and finally rounding out to a dried prune flavor. Tap at BT. The owner- Richard was telling me that the last time this was brewed was about 6 years ago. I had a hard time believing that since it tasted pretty damn fresh with 0 oxidation factor. Still this was a fantastic BW. Pours a hazy medium amber and a tight thin foamy lasting head. Aroma is fruity up front- lots of esters, raisin, pear, with good full sweet thick caramel toffee malts- and even a nice fresh hop spicy and fruity tone. Flavor is big upfront with tons of thick sweet doughy caramel, toffee, light molasses and thickened brown sugar- some honey as well- good fruit presence and a nice hoppy flavor and aftertaste. Overall just a great well made barleywine.

On tap at Toronado for Barleywine fest ’09. Reddish-brown color with a considerable beige head. Sweet malty aroma along with alcohol and some piney hops. Draught. Pours a very cloudy amber color with a moderate light tan head on it. Nose is slightly hoppy with some citrus elements to it, which I was pleasantly surprised over. On tap @ McGregor’s. Poured a clear copper with a minimal lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of caramel, fruit and a hint of spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. The booze was noticeable from the start.
