(Draught 2010 vintage) clear rich caramel, very little head. Nose is oxidized, caramel, American hops, bit of urinal cake, pine. Taste of caramel, very hoppy, sweet and malty, syrupy, thick body, resiny. Rciesla (5607) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAR 20, 2009
Draft at BT. Pours an amber ruby body with an off white head. Fig raisins and some dark fruity esters, and finally rounding out to a dried prune flavor. Very salty and somewhat sweet, mild caramel and lightly chewy with a hint of wood and toffee. Good brew. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - SEP 10, 2010
Clear golden with a creamy white head. Sweet earthy caramel aroma and taste with a candy finish. Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAR 19, 2009
Tap at BT. The owner- Richard was telling me that the last time this was brewed was about 6 years ago. I had a hard time believing that since it tasted pretty damn fresh with 0 oxidation factor. Still this was a fantastic BW. Pours a hazy medium amber and a tight thin foamy lasting head. Aroma is fruity up front- lots of esters, raisin, pear, with good full sweet thick caramel toffee malts- and even a nice fresh hop spicy and fruity tone. Flavor is big upfront with tons of thick sweet doughy caramel, toffee, light molasses and thickened brown sugar- some honey as well- good fruit presence and a nice hoppy flavor and aftertaste. Overall just a great well made barleywine.

On tap at Toronado for Barleywine fest ’09. Reddish-brown color with a considerable beige head. Sweet malty aroma along with alcohol and some piney hops. Flavor is sweet malt, starfruit, sour light fruits, wood, piney hops, and alcohol. Fairly full palate. A strong one. maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - MAR 16, 2014
Draught. Pours a very cloudy amber color with a moderate light tan head on it. Nose is slightly hoppy with some citrus elements to it, which I was pleasantly surprised over. Taste was bitter, yet had a strong bite to it; even so, it managed to stay a lighter drink, even over 10%. Not bad. Tide (4336) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 18, 2016
Draught at Bear Republic. Copper color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, resin, caramel, hops, nuts, ripe fruits and pine. Bitter finish with citrus, caramel, hops, resin, nuts and pine. Very nice barley wine. IrishBoy (4233) - Bakersfield, California, USA - FEB 28, 2006
On tap at the pub. Deep gold with a tan head. Malty aroma with a malty caramel taste and a little bitterness. Ron (4181) - Rochester, New York, USA - NOV 27, 2010
On tap @ McGregor’s. Poured a clear copper with a minimal lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of caramel, fruit and a hint of spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. The booze was noticeable from the start.
