On draft at the Bistro Barrel fest. It pours reddish orange with an aroma of citrus and vinegar. The flavor has caramel, toffee, some astringency from the bacteria and noticeable alcohol. The finish is very wild. nickd717 (4691) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 13, 2011
On tap at the Bistro -Bal Aged Fest. Hazy amber red in color with a rather minimal head. Red berry and fruit aroma with some wild yeast notes and a bit of acetone. The flavor has a good base with caramel and berries, but there is a plasticky note and some slight wild off-flavors/acetone. Medium-bodied with medium carbonation. Decent but a bit off. bhensonb (15214) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 13, 2011

On tap at Pizza Port’s Barrel Blast. Pours with a hazed golden-bronze body and an off-white head. Aromas are phenolic, wine, tannic, caramel and floral. Flavors of lipstick and suntan lotion, with caramel, fennel and some funk. Oily, tannic and bitter. Not one of my favorites.

A: The pour is a darkish amber color with a finger’s worth of khaki colored foam.
S: The nose is sort of what I expected from a bretted barleywine. It’s extremely dry with lots of oak, but a lot of piney hops as well. A mild grassy funk, and despite the dryness, there still is a bit of maltiness.
T: Although I knew it was coming, the combination of intense dryness along with fairly powerful bitter hoppiness was just a bit...strange. There is a mild malt character as well as some dark fruit notes.
M: The body is medium with a fairly high level of carbonation for a barleywine and a dry, bitter finish.
D: Certainly an interesting beer. It was nice to try, but I’m not entirely sure how much of this I would want to drink in a sitting. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - DEC 9, 2010
Hazy amber color/ fleeting tan head. Dry hay, mild barnyard, pit fruit aromas. Rich, smooth mouthfeel. Nice pit fruit, toasted caramel sweet flavors with dry hay, dry earthy barnyard, musty cellar. Great mix of sweet, dry, earthy flavors. JohnnyJ (5562) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 7, 2010
Draft at San Diego Strong Ale Fest 2010. Pours a slightly hazy, dark gold, with thick short off-white head. Caramel malt, tart fruit, light vinegar, bready malt, oak, and acidic sourness. A strange combination of flavors, but I actually liked it, nice.
