Pour from a 22oz bomber. Clear brown brew with very active carbonation at first. Big fizzy head, dense, after a few minutes settles down to a smallish but persistent head. Carbonation very lively and active at first, becomes very moderate and soft after about 15 minutes in the glass. Aroma of earth, caramel malts, over ripe sweet fruit, ethanol, roasted grains. Taste is sweet malt at the start, toasted grains and a little sweetness in the middle, finish with earth and a little drying hops. Final taste is still a bi sweet. Best when not fridge cold but a little warmer. Nice.
650ml bottle. Pours dark brown. Biscuit, molasses, demerara sugar, dried figs. Nice full body. Good. shawnmurphy (539) - Plattsburgh, New York, USA - JUN 3, 2017
12-ounce bottle pours clear ruby-brown, no head, trace of light tan lacing at edge of glass. Aroma: dark dried fruits, brown sugar, coffee. Flavor: molasses, caramelized brown sugar, figs, dates, raisins, some smoke. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied. dwyerpg (6228) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - FEB 17, 2017
This is a really delicious brown ale, one of my favorites of the style. Not nutty at all, this has a lot of molasses. Sticky, yet still not too sweet. Excellent beer. Dandm (125) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 17, 2016
You can definitely taste the brown sugar and molasses and that would be the bulk of the beer. I also get grape on the sides of the tongue. The body is surprisingly light for the sweetness and feels slightly too watery from the lack of bitterness. The hops are just there. Overall it’s nice to have something with big sweet malt that doesn’t feel too heavy. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - AUG 27, 2016
Bottle from Beer and Wine. Dark brown body with slight head. Nose is malty, molasses, sweet. Taste is similar of caramel, malts, oatmeal, brown sugar. Gets hoppier in the finish. Quite a nice beer all around.

Pours chestnut brown, brief tan head. Complex nose with roasted malt dominant, hints of molasses. Flavor follows... roasted malts, brown sugar, molasses, licorice. Flavor impression is sweet, but not cloying, with a slight dry finish. Overall, it reminds me of a lighter American Imperial Stout. Nice brown ale. Cousin_Larry (895) - - JUN 13, 2016
Sample at WOBFest 2016. Just not digging the brown sugar & molasses sweetness along with the malt flavor. It sounds good when I write it, but it just didn’t work that well IMO. Finn (7547) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAY 13, 2016
Fra fat på Bishops Arms Kiruna 30 Apr 16 i hyggelig selskap. Ultradyp brun. Lavt filmskum. Aroma av malt & sjokolade. Smaken behagelig. Litt karamell med innblanding av harpiks. Blir tørr etter hvert. rentonj7 (250) - Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 7, 2016
Clear reddish brown with a faint head. Brown sugar, cinnamon, fruity, nutty, roasted malts in aroma. Very sweet, chocolate, spices in flavor. Low bitterness, medium mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Seems like a good homebrew, but maybe not a good commercial beer - if that makes sense. 60minuteman (1746) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 2, 2016
Sampled from Rams. Poured a clear brown with tan head and lace. Notes of malt, hop, molasses, caramel, bread, spice and cheap fruits. It sort of gave off the vibe of a pumpkin ale or a special seasonal beer. Not thrilling but certainly drinkable.
