Bottle, poured a clear pale amber with a thick white head. Strong hop aromas, lots of grapefruit and floral notes. Flavors are quite similar. It is fairly obvious (along with the description) that copious amounts of Cascades and C-bus hops were used. Not much of a malt base, this is a hoppal assualt, and a quite good one. Finish is quite dry and nicely bitter. a10555 (125) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - MAY 19, 2007
Racer 5, makes me think of the big eyed kid in the half helmet and the song Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer Go! I would seriously suggest Racing out and find this great beer. Perfect bitterness and a finsh that has ready for the next sip . dmac (6259) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAY 15, 2007
22 oz bomber from padrefan78/zinnamon, wound up getting two bottles of this in the same week. It was a good week. Poured a beautiful clear golden/honey/amber with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma is citrusy hops, flowers, slight pine and towards the end I was able to detect some caramel. Flavor is mild hop bitterness that finishes a little on the sweet side especailly for an IPA. Very easy drinking beer and perfect after doing yard work all day, okay for a few hours but it seemed like all day. Trooper11 (468) - Suffolk, Virginia, USA - MAY 15, 2007
Hazy amber-orange brew, average size head, good form layered lacing. Solid piney citrus hops aroma. Very inviting, not overpowering. Good bitter bite right from the start, gentle warmth, sweet and piney nice malt compliment. I have had this bottle since last July and this stuff is awesome. This beer starts with a pine/floral note, with a touch of citrus underlying. It pours a slightly hazy amber, with almost no head. Very crisp flavor, with a quick burst of pine notes, fading away to a sweet finish. Seems to be missing the sticky mouthfeel of most IPA’s. Overall, not a bad beer, but there are a lot better for the same price.

Bottle: This one pours gold with a small white head. Smell is a pretty good amount of pine and earth. I smell a hint of caramel as I continue to swirl the glass and take periodic whiffs. The taste is a bit dry feeling, but very earthy and piney again. As I drink, this one begins to taste a little sticky, probably that hint of caramel I smelled. shp555 (2024) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 6, 2007
Pours an orange copper color with a white head. Aroma is caramel, with bitter citrus hops. Flavor is malty caramel, with a bitter citrus finish. mgumby10 (1856) - Jupiter, Florida, USA - MAY 5, 2007
Pours a fairly yeasty light orange with a very thin qhite head. Smells of big, floral hops, with a touch of light citrus. Taste is mostly grapefruit, hops, a little spice, touch of cinnamon or brown sugar. Seems to be very well balanced, and quite an easy drinking IPA. Very floral and subtle in its characters, which was a nice transition to the smooth finish. Very nice IPA. Duster72 (117) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - MAY 5, 2007
Pours a golden amber with a huge rocky head and chunky lacing. Aroma is mildy sweet malts and floral hops. Taste is floral and grapefruit with a lot of sweet malts. Not nearly as aggressive as I expected. Much more drinkable than many bigger IPAs. The sweet aftertaste leaves your mouth watering for another sip. Extremely sessionable, excellent IPA. tronraner (2459) - Walland, Tennessee, USA - MAY 3, 2007
Draught. Pours amber gold with thin white head. The aroma is citrus hops all around, hints of taffee, sweet fruit. The flavor is honeydew melon and grapefruit. The bitterness is pretty mellow, the hops flavorful. Good and smooth brew.
