Very good brew here. It had some yeast collections in it but this is an easy to drink beer. The drinkability is almost unmatched. I could easily consume ridiculous amounts of this. The foam was thick and deep. The smell on this sweet. This has to be one of the better beer’s i’ve tried since my adventure out in the beer world.

Wonderful piney hop aroma wafts from a murkey, copper colored beer with a huge, frothy white head. The palate is creamy and medium. Very malty, but not overly thick or sweet. Nice grainy hop presence with a very slight off flavor in the aftertaste. JDUB (178) - Venice Beach, California, USA - JAN 28, 2007
an attractive ipa quality of cloudy golden orange with nice off-white lasting head with lacing. citrus pine scent with a nice bitter flower flavor. delish. redlight (2318) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JAN 24, 2007
Good citrus hops aroma. Pours like a classic pale ale, gold. Good citrus hops upfront, sharp bitterness, with a smooth malt finish, with honey and brown sugar. Very well balanced, nothing better than a balanced IPA! padrefan98 (854) - (San Diego) Santee, California, USA - JAN 24, 2007
This brew was reccomended by the bartender at O’Brien’s in San Diego. She called it her old reliable. Hops are well represented and start off strong. Pine and grass were present and a nice floral finish. Good stuff.

This is a very good IPA, but given all the excellent American IPAs/APAs on the market, I thought it above average in its style, but not a truly elite beer. I think that Great Divide Titan IPA and Bell’s Two Hearted are both significantly better as far as "big," hoppy US IPAs go.
I had this beer on-tap at Roman’s in Milwaukee.
It poured a copper/amber color with a fairly abundant head with good staying power (and left nice lacing). Aroma is Cascade/citus hop goodness, but is not overpowering (BTW - I like overpowering Cascade/citrus-ness). Taste is more of the same; assertively citrus-y, but not really powerful flavor. Mouthfeel is good, but not overly sticky. I liked this beer, but with so many wonderful choices in this category, I have a hard time putting it at the top of the stack. This was one of many great bottled beers given to me by a friend in San Diego. I kept this one out of a tasting I held with my Flying Saucer amigos. This was one brewery that stood out in the ’05 GABF. They brew solid beers and this was no exception. It is hazy orangeish amber in color with a good head. Good lacing.... It has a deep woody, hop aroma and you can tell it has backbone. The flavor is fruity- more citrus with caramel sweetness and then an intense grapefruit hop dryness that lingers awhile. A very solid IPA.
