Bottle. Nice pour, good honey-golden color with an average off-white head. Solid aroma, resiny hops, grapefruit, grassy, slightly sweet, and a hint of alcohol making it through. Flavor is standard for and IPA, and doesn’t really hold up to the aroma (the aroma is better, in other words). Still good though, balanced hops, slightly sweet, lingering bitterness on the finish. Nice on the palate, good carbonation, crisp, smooth. A good beer for sure, nothing jumps out at me really outside the aroma. It’s just a good, mild west coast IPA (that might be an oxymoron). I’d definitely have this beer again.

Not too hoppy, but still a very solid IPA. Crisp and refreshing, beautiful gold color. I like El Toro Deuce better, but this is good too.

this sucka’ has a rocky head good enough for flea snowboarding. don’t know about flea snowboarding? that bespeaks of good persoal hygenie my friend. warm, aged honey color. good start, eh? mild aroma, with obvious pine influence. despite the hop head touting on the bottle label, i found this to be a rather friendly, moderately mild ipa. lacks the complexity of the layered tropical/citric fruit influences of some other ipas, but don’t take that as a detrimental quality. resinous hop astringency is well balanced, just dry enough for that lovely bite and to counter the malt. i would rate this as perhaps the Bill paxton of ipas. there really isn’t any stand-out qualities involved, but then again, you cannot really comp[lain about anything in particular. i’d drink it again.

22 oz bottle - Pours cloudy orangish with a moderate, lasting head. It has a great citrus hops aroma. There’s a medium body, good, strong hops flavor with a nice citrus addition, and enough malt to support it. The finish is perhaps the only drawback, tasting a little off to me. This is a very solid IPA.

Bottled - LCRBM2 - A copper coloured beer with a lovely welcoming hoppy aroma. The taste has good hop levels with a fine malt balance. Alcohol levels refresh. A tasty enjoyable beer.

LCRBM2: Grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and red berries in the flavor. Oily hoppy aftertaste.

Sept. 11, 2006; 22 oz. bomber. Hazy, particulated pour w/ billowy, styrofoam-type head. Thick floral aroma. Attempt to balance the heavy hopping & remarkable bitterness with candyish malts produces a delightfully-chewy brew. I do love the West Coast IPAs.

Bottled, LCRBM. Fruits and herbal hops in the aroma. Orange color, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, herbal, apple and nice bitterness, light sticky.
