Delicious hoppy IPA! Beware though, if you drink 3-4 you will be pretty full.

A west coast classic IPA that is always a joy to revisit. It has a clutch of hoppy aromas with some wheat in there. The appearance is a clear eyed amber typical of a 90s/early 2000s IPA. The flavor is a wave of bitter hops cascading into citrus swirls and a smooth rugged piney foam finish. An old favorite that still holds up against a new generation. Good for chilling in an east bay airbnb with your boo boo while she tries to sleep before bombarding her with some Total Divas on hulu and/or the WWE network.

650ml brown bottle. late haze, gold colour. Exquisite thick and cramy white cap that sticks around. The aroma has grapefruit, orange peels and light caramel. Taste has grapefruit bitterness and dry grains in the background. Citrusy aftertaste. Smooth, pleasant, a good to to IPA.

355ml bottle, close to its BB date. Pours hazy orange with a frothy off-white head, great retention and lacing. Aroma: hoppy, floral, citrus, tropical, slightly resinous. Taste: floral hops, citrus, tropical fruits, resin, floral bitter aftertaste. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, average carbonation. Considering this bottle was past its best I was impressed with this, been around for almost 20 years yet it still holds up well with today's west coast IPAs. Great beer.

12floz bottle, bottling code near the bottom, but no freshness date, paid $2 as a single, poured contents into a pint glass. This has been one of my all time favorite AIPAs. Unfortunately BR is off and on distribution is off and on in my immediate area, but can get with a little extra effort. Looks great, its a golden IPA with a nice amount of head, and a scent combination of lemon, basket of citrus fruits, and underlying pine. You cannot go wrong with the classic C-hops. Full of herb and pine bitterness, but leaves room for citrus juiciness. Malt are just enough to lend some sweetness and adequate weight to this beer. Without them this would be one of those blowhard IPAs beefed up with brewers sugar. I absolutely hate it when brewers pump up the alcohol without using malted grains, all to emphasize hop bitterness - it's not good. With that said if BR uses such methods in this beer, it at least works, and not obvious as some. The end result is I like this AIPA for its consistency. At one time, it was leaps and bounds above the crowd.
