amped up racer 5? why yes, thank you. everything good in Racer 5 just a little juicier and fruitier and perhaps even a little more bitter, though it still seems fairly well balanced. ROGUE (2216) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - SEP 11, 2013
On tap at State Line. Pours a medium golden amber color with a thin white head and light lacing. Aroma of pineapple and other tropical fruit, citrus, sweet malt and citrus hops. Flavor is very citrus forward, lemon, orange and grapefruit, tapering off to finish with a moderate piney, citrus hop finish with long lingering peppery bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. deaconmike (470) - Roswell, Georgia, USA - AUG 22, 2013
Golden orange with thin white head; lots of lacing. Aroma is hugely floral, tropical fruit and caramel malt. Taste follows the nose. Some initial sweetness followed by plenty a hop bitterness (piney). Fairly malty. Mouthfeel is medium body, a little chewy. Soft carbonation. Excellent ipa. nimbleprop (9146) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - AUG 19, 2013
4oz pour at Max’s Hop Fest 2013. Pours a oily, dark gold with some cloudy, white head. Nose of orange, grapefruit, pine, soap, honey. Flavor is malty, orange, honey comb, grapefruit, caramel. Sweet finish. Could have used a twist. ben4321 (7014) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - AUG 15, 2013

Location: Draft at Ginger Man (NYC), 8/15/13
Aroma: Tropical fruit hop aroma, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, etc, some pine as well
Appearance: Hazy orange color with a lasting, frothy head and mid-heavy lace
Flavor: Taste is surprisingly sweet fruity, with plenty of bitterness to balance it out
Palate: The body is medium, it is creamy, with a soft carbonation, and a clean finish
I wasn’t expecting such a sweet example of the style, but there’s enough hops to keep IPA fans happy. Good stuff, but the taste doesn’t quite live up to the aroma.
draft at BCTC 2013,enjoyed under a tent in pouring rain. good but prefer Racer 5. copper orange, solid bitterness, citrusy hops. Seemed bigger than 7%. Nice trevor211 (1682) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 13, 2013
On tap at The Sixgill. Copper pour, smallish head. Sticky sweet citrus candy on the nose. Wow, whatever this was dry hopped with? I want to eat it for breakfast. Very hop-forward -- this is definitely a great west-coast IPA, laughing in the face of so-called balance. I sort of can’t believe this is only 7% -- tastes like it’s much more powerful. Mandarin, lemon, and grapefruit dominate -- wondering if they dry hopped with some citra or amarillo -- whatever it was, it made for a damn tasty brew. All those hop oils never even give the malts a chance to counter. It’s an ode to hops. That’s about it. DavidWoodruff (630) - Windsor, California, USA - JUN 25, 2013
Aroma: Citrus, pine with a hint of wet eucalyptus.
Appearance: golden with moderate white head.
Flavor: Light malt with citrusy hops.
Palate: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Racer 5 with a burst of hop aroma. Bule (2315) - California, USA - JUN 13, 2013
On tap at Taps in Petaluma pours a golden pale brown. Intense hoppy bitterness from start to finish. Hop flavors very well balanced without any of the flavors being overly prominent. Easy going IPA.
