Racer X® is an uncommon Double India Pale Ale which puts a California twist on English brewing traditions by adding an assertive hop aroma and bitterness that compliments the firm malt backbone. Like its little brother Racer 5, Racer X® is balance in a bottle.

Quick3Beers (1232) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 2, 2016
Pours a slightly hazy copper from a bottle, white head, lots of lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, some pine. Flavor is more like lemon soap, kind of pine-sol-y. Some malt sweetness. Well-balanced, but not liking the soapiness. Good beer though.

tightslice (1309) - Redwood City, California, USA - DEC 29, 2015
Bottle from Safeway in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is orange bitters, citrus peels, vegetal hops, pine, earthy wetness (mossy). Taste comes across very vegetal hops with orange bitters / marmalade (mix of sweet and bitter) with a bitter, earthy finish.

AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - DEC 29, 2015
2012 bottle rescued from the trailer cellar. Clear amber color with ivory head. Big floral, fruity, herbal hoppy aromas. Smooth mouthfeel. Tangy citrus, light pit fruit flavors with pine, herbal hoppage, and a sweet maltage to balance---drying finish____tasty.

Prolitariat777 (102) - St george, Utah, USA - AUG 14, 2015
Awesome hop arms form a copper pour with white head. Biscuit malts and fresh pine flavor with some hoppy dried fruit balance. Slight alcohol army’s excellent beer.

BeerRenter76 (1014) - Texas, USA - JUL 22, 2015
Pours a medium coppery amber with a one finger off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus and light pine hops and bready malt. Flavor follows with remarkably well integrated malt, citrus and citrus hops. Finishes with citrus rind and herbal hops. While not quite as intense hops as many Western IIPAs, the flavors are so well balanced that this is a pleasure to drink. Medium bodied with a pleasant creaminess.

markducommun (1116) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 2, 2015
Bottle, perhaps a bit old. Cloudy orange gold, light tan head. Resinous, tangy deep citrus, orange, light ethanol, deeper biscuit notes. Decently tangy, bitter, strong biscuity malt backbone. Lightly oily, medium body, decent amount of acidity. Medium finish. Well balanced, good.
