Pours a very deep ruby/amber color. Aroma is strongly sweet, hoppy, and floral with some citrus notes as well. Strong hoppy bitter flavor. An alcolhol flavor is present as well. Not too shabby. Frank (4225) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 28, 2004
Definitely interesting. Probably closest to the hoppy kind of American ambers but the alcohol’s a bit high for that. It sort of splits the difference between that and an IPA. Actaully, it could easilty pass as an IPA given the hopping rate aside from the color and a bit of roastiness... Anyway, I liked it a lot. Not the most complex beer but very tasty and beautiful with a big foamy head that leaves a thick sheet of lace. I dig it. Try one. You’ll like it. ontario102 (794) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 27, 2004
Earthy, malty, smokey and lemony aroma; solid front end maltiness and a cascade-like hoppy and dryish finish; particulated body; good balance and different Sham (1844) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 25, 2004
Mahogany with a creamy head and spotty lacing. Caramel and roasted malts. Some honey. Alcohol and bitter notes with some peppery spices. Citrus comes out in the flavor. More caramel and roast. Bitter orange and some alcohol. Nice blend of malts and hops that trails off bitter. BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - AUG 25, 2004
Auburn color, red hue, well carbonated. The aroma is nicely hoppy with rich maltyness, burnt toast & rye. The flavor is very rounded with lots of umami & hops. Finishes excellent, smooth, lingering, quenching. Very balanced and tasty. Thanks for the treat Indiana_Red!

Bottle Pours out a clear deep golden redishh amber, with a small head and little lacing. Aroma was a moderate malt and hop componant and even at 7% the ABV was clearly present. Flavors were , grain, dough, and a strong hops contingent. Feel was a medium body, slightly bitter and alcoholic with lively carbonation. After taste was quite bitter and long lasting. kendog (16) - whittier, California, USA - AUG 18, 2004
Tasted on draft at the 6740. Great full bodied beer, deer red almost brown. Very complex malt profile, a little smoky but not to much and of course lots of hops from Bear Republic. I have yet to try a beer from them I haven’t liked. MayorQuimby (100) - Santa Barbara, California, USA - AUG 15, 2004
Bottle. Pours a deep red color, tan head that left a nice lacing on my glass. Nice strong aroma, some caramel and I can smell the hops. Smooth flavor, not as hoppy as I expected, but nice malty and bitter taste with some wood and caramel notes followed by a bit of alcohol. Alcohol is more evident in the aftertaste, as well as some of the wood flavor. A good brew, something that I could enjoy every day. Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - AUG 4, 2004
Brown/red color, small tan head that had a nice long hangtime then faded to a small lace.Hoppy malty aroma with a little caramel hidden way in the back.Light malt upfront with a nice hop taste some grapefruit and a little bit of an alcohol bite towards the end of the tasting.Very nice brew and easy to drink, much easier then i was thinking it might be.Thanks got to Flipbrewer for this fine Bomber. kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - JUL 29, 2004
Dark amber-red with yeast sediment. Modest malt aroma. Flavor is malt up front with a nice hops finish.
